How Might This Fair?

By PC'sFrank, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I started out with a three ship fleet, one that has an additional TIE Defender Squadron and more upgrades for the Cymoon Refit Star Destroyer. Then I heard that the average fleet is supposed to have more than three ships, so I ditched that squadron and the upgrades and added a Gozanti. Do you think this fleet may be able to do well, or even hold its own?

The Raider should have Ordnance Experts. Vader is a one time use, and he'll probably freak your opponent out enough to where they'll target the Raider first. In my experience, small ships haven't been a good delivery system for the boarding cards. They get destroyed on approach. Also, you might get more use out of another Defender squadron rather than a Gozanti. It's more common for the Empire to only have 3 or fewer ships. The Rebels are the ones who want 4 or more.

Understood. My reasoning behind putting Vader on the corvette was to have him act as a deterrent against large ships getting to close. It seems it may have the opposite effect.

Ha! You can say that again, I look at that tasty little 54 points and eat it with 1 ISD attack... I love vader raiders, but for practicality's sake, you should stick with OE. I like the rest of the list, but IMO the Gladiator is a little too many points. I personally would cut off ET so you can build another squadron. I would also personally make the Gozanti a comms net gozanti. Also, Shields to Max might be a little underwelming, but that is really a personal thing. Another thing is that thrawn is better (normally) for Arquetens and other long range ships and can be underwelming when used on close range ships. I have used him to much success in both. I would also recommend looking at Tua+Electronic Counter Measures for your crew because that would more than like be a better choice than Grint.

Good Luck and welcome to the forums!

Thanks man! Believe me, I'd use an Arquetens if I could find one for sale. But, I'm thinking you may be right, Electronic Countermeasures may be the way to go. My thinking was to use Grint as a means to get more tokens for Shields To Maximum. I figured both of the other ships could use it, what with their black die and all.

Maybe, I have not been impressed so far. That really doesn’t mean it couldn’t work
