I really want them on Norra in the ARC - 170 or Heff Tobber in the U-Wing. I would gladly pay a higher price for them to be on a larger ship as well!
What would have been really cool is if Afterburners had a different amount of charges based on ship base size. I.e. 1 for large base, 2 for medium and 3 for small base.
Thoughts?

First: Medium and large ships already move way faster than small ships...
Second: its nice in second edition that not every ship can do everything... adds a lot more diversity and uniqueness.
Third: if your only reason is "I want" then I don't have much in the way to argue it for or against.
The problem is then it becomes engine upgrade all over again for medium bases and they just move so fast as is, of course you want it, because it’s super good
boba!!!, punishers, 4 lom, maybe even reapers sound just brutal with free boost

He's the benchmark, much like any fix to X-wings had to take into account Biggs and making him harder to kill.
And yes, kimo's with a boost would be terrifying.

A "slam" is a maneuver. You could move, slam, and afterburn with a K-wing. That's a freaking fast k-wing.

Med base = 1.5 1 Straights. Move 3 straight, afterburner 1 straight, Slam 3 straight. Add base length to distance between maneuver and afterburn, again between afterburn and Slam, again after Slam. Total distance covered 3+1.5+1+1.5+3+1.5= 11.5...

It just comes down to opportunity cost. If he doesn't have to burn an action to boost, it lets him take an an action to better modify his attacks/defense

It’s fine as it is. Having few selected Medium and large ships that can boost, instead of just giving a conditional Engine upgrade with charges to everyone again!
If you want to buff the ARC (Lord knows I do...) then petition ffg for some better crew or gunners that work on ships that don't have bloody turrets

So far, have any non-turret, gunner-capable ships been officially released except for the Firespray?
Once ARCs get released, I'm sure we'll have more options.

Even once per game that is crazy potent.
It would make Boba an additional 8 points more expensive. And to boost, lock and focus would require the use of cybernetics and Han gunner and would double stress him.
Once per game boost into action using cybernetics really isn't that bad, Khiraxz Fighter / x wings can do it, as can yt-1300's and scyks.
