Rising From the Grave of September - Steel Command

Yup, Loved watching the top cut play last year, it does make for more exciting gameplay.

Nova format is easily the best. In addition to everything truthy wrote, it encourages active play!

You should never in a tournament be put in a position where the "best" strategy would be to run and shoot for a 6-5.

Are we going to discuss the elephant in the room here? Days are a set 24 hours in length.

3 rounds Swiss are equal in time to 3 rounds of cut

Not exactly. 3 rounds of cut are played to 6-5 so time is squeezed. 3 round of swiss is played to win big. Swiss has the chance of being quicker.?

On earth, at least... respect aliens, dude!

How many days are in a year when a planet has two suns? (E.g. Tatooine)

Its a Binary system. The two suns orbit around each other effectively, but occupy the same stellar "space" as a singular sun would.

The day/year ratio is based on planetary rotation as well as stellar positioning. The planet still revolves around the stars as a system.

In short. Its basically the same math, you just have to have the observation to do the math. The question you're asking is how many times does the planet perform a full rotation compared to the time it takes for said planetary body to perform a full orbit of its parent celestial body.

That, and I'm sure there's that information somewhere... heck, you can find the average gravity of Dagobah for information...

Indeed. But are six rounds of ssiss equal? Or are their qualifications heats on day 1 and day 2 with a finals cut on day 3?

I will feel vindicated on my opinion about SAd...eventually...maybe...

Love it. Thanks for the write up!

Nice quick breakdown of the major archetypes. I’m looking forward to you expanding on these. Thanks!

@BiggsIRL I just wanted to pass along that you have been paid the ultimate compliment any employer can bestow on a webpage by joining my companies list of blocked websites!

Good news - that means you are awesome obviously and have become such a distraction they felt they had to act.

Bad news - now I have use 4g to read Steel Command while I am at work instead of working.

My heart soars, my data cries.

Excellent point, though that has its own downsides. And it doesn't change the fact that you give up Ordnance Experts

This title is huge for the build's alpha strike capability. Speed seven Defenders hitting you on turn one? Yeah, this build can do that.

First Defender is deployment off the Quasar, next 3 are Squall move, then after a speed 5 move.

CR90s outside of deployment deployed at the front edge, then did a speed 3, 1/1/2 yaw move towards the middle.

Nose Punch did first round hits before it was cool... ?

... but yeah, I mention it because hitting turn 1 is nice, hitting turn 1 with no useable defense tokens is nicer ?

A lot of people really haven’t grasped just how easy first turn hits can be, and indeed, JYST HOW IMPORTANT deployment can be ... it’s surprising.
