And as mentioned previously Luke did find his way in the Falcon, to see R2D2 which then showed him the inital message which set him on the Hero's Journey in the OT. Which occurred on the Falcon. "Jedi Master" Skywalker would be a great addition as a crew card for the Resistance, could even take 2 crew slots like Emperor Palpatine does for the Empire faction.
I'm sure we can find plenty of characters that either were never on a ship or were never on a ship the size of the ships we use in game (though I guess just about everyone who's been on a capital ship was likely on some kind of smaller transport at one point).
I currently have no Resistance stuff and no intention of getting into it but I swear to all of you here and now that if there is a Jedi Master Luke card with a green milk mustache I will buy all of it

Luke is that Character that a lot of us have been fond of since we were kids. Considering that, I'm really surprised they designed his gunner card to be cost prohibitive on the rebels. Hopefully for the Resistance we get a Luke upgrade that can see some tournament play. I always loved the idea of Jedi Master Luke, and I get the feeling that plenty of people are right there with me. if FFG wants our money all they gotta do is print the right pieces of card stock

I think it was more a case of them wanting to have an upgrade for beginners to either help them ease into 2.0 or to learn the rotate mechanics without being too heavily punished.
I was pondering the idea of a Resistance Luke Crew on a reddit thread and came up with this.
"The first time you are declared the target of an attack this round, you may recover one force."
Or perhaps "The first time you become the defender (before dice are rolled) this round, you may recover one force." This wording to prevent any shenanigans that may come with force upgrades in the future.
Kind of pass on his pilot ability to the Resistance without being bonkers. Of course it's still really powerful for what it is, and I doubt we'd get this. If we do get a Luke card, I just hope its not broken as all ****.

It makes a lot of sense for a card like that to exist and Luke certainly gets the job done. Personally I like to have my favorite characters be a little more competitive though, and would've preferred a generic to fit this role. It's a pretty minor complaint though, after all Luke is really powerful on his t-65.

I would not have preferred a generic there, assuming still using force tokens, for a few different reasons.
Agile Gunner is basically a generic Luke that doesn't work when at the time that's most useful.
Good to see sequel trilogy previews are going to get sidetracked to... fun discussion. Can't wait for the prequel threads...
I am glad I picked up a second bomber though. May pick up a third if I find one at a good discount.

I, on the other hand, am now kicking myself that I
don't
have one!

Right? it didn't seem all that great in 1.0 so I never got one either, but I guess with Resistance only having 4 ships they needed to make this thing more appealing. seems like they pulled it off, barring costings of course. I wonder if any of their weirder pilot abilities will make it back in, like the one who could drop bombs anywhere overlapping himself before he moved.

After the article, and taking the leak drop from Gencon I went to my LGS and bought the last two in the store. Glad I did. The bomber looks like it’ll be strong and fun. God I love plastic crack
I honestly don't even have any resistance-ready content as of yet. But in a couple of paychecks I'm gonna' fill out preorders like a motherfrakker.

Really curious if the thoroughly missed Obi Wan and Yoda going to appear this edition as cards.
Probably PT era only?

How many prequel memes will swarm the topics?

There may be some memes, but I think the prequel dislike is not so much directed at a specific character or characters (a certain Gungan excepted, and I doubt he will have a game warping ability) rather at the cinematic flaws of the movies.
I mean, I welcome the prequel content happily. It’s just a shame I don’t see how I can justify it all.
Anyone have any guesses point costs on the ships or even cards? When does everyone think the actual costs will be revealed, after the First Order article?
if I had to guess
Falcon Pilots
Rey - 95
Han Solo - 92
Chewbacca - 90
then .... Poe Dameron 68 (Fenn Rau Level)
The interesting point costs I believe will be attached to the Generic Resistance Bomber Pilot (If there is one) I think the starting baseline will be around 58 - 63 anything cheaper may end up broken. And at that point cost with upgrades it’d be difficult to run 3.
3/2/?/9/3 and the dial needs to be taken into consideration of course

Poe flies the Falcon? When? Or is this a bit of wistful wishing for PTL on the Resistance Falcon?

I think they were suggesting Poe would be 68pts in a T-70 for purposes of running Resistance two-ship lists.

Remember that the Resistance Falcon loses 2 shields from the Rebel version. While Rey will likely clock in around the 90ish range, I imagine the muggle pilots won't be quite so expensive unless their pilot abilities are totally bonkers.

This guy right here gets it ^ ?
Rey/Poe aka my favorite list in 1.0

Yeah it's probably safe to assume Han on the Falcon will be somewhere around 86-90 points with Rey being at least 6-10 points more than him. Should be interesting to see how valuable ffg feels ptl Poe is. 68 sounds pretty reasonable, but the point costs of things surprised me the first time around so...
I doubt the point cost for Poe will be higher than Luke (62 pts). The T-70 isn't that much better a ship than the T-65. I'd expect him to be slightly more than Wedge (so >52 but <60).

I suppose that depends on how highly FFG value that third shield and innate boost?
