I've seen some posts on Facebook saying the new Tournament regulations are out but can't seem to find them anywhere. Can anyone steer me to the right place? the only ones I'm finding are from July.
Tournament regulations?
ok, seems like the link getting past around is one that was sent to Coruscant invitees.
Nothing to see here, move along. Move along.
Huh. Fortressing is now illegal. Gonna be interesting to see this enforced.

“If the marshal determines that a player is trying to use fortressing to their advantage, they should inform the player of this fact and instruct that player to plot maneuvers that end the fortressing board state. If the player fails to do so, at the end of the next Activation Phase, all of their ships are destroyed and the game ends.
Alternately, the marshal determines that a player is trying to use fortressing to their advantage, they should inform the player of this fact and instruct that player to plot maneuvers that end the fortressing board state. If the player fails to do so, at the end of the next Activation Phase, all of their ships are destroyed and the game ends.”
FFG hates fortressing so much they banned it twice!
I like this part:
"If the player fails to do so, at the end of the next Activation Phase, all of their ships are destroyed and the game ends."
It's obviously a punishment, but it actually kinda makes sense. If the ships have been unable to move past each other for that long, something is probably wrong. If a ship is stuck for a turn or two, you can imagine that it's moving a little bit, but spending more time trying not to hit something than making much relevant progress. If none of the ships are moving for that long, they probably all did just crash into each other.
"First edition shields may be used, but a player must mark one side in some manner that clearly indicates whether the shield is active or lost"
That explain the lack of shield from any conversion kit.
Thanks I have keep few of them for the new edition, I will just put a red circle stickers that will be enough I think
Looks like the app is calculating half points incorrectly. Rounds up when it should round down.

Is anyone remotely surprised?
Oof 400 plus players are 7 rounds and top 32 cut. I've not seen a single tourney that large go that many rounds and I suspectany such tourney will follow a custom structure.

It’s actually doing it correctly since it’s showing you what you have left not what the opponent killed.
So it’s got that going for it, which is nice.

I doubt that, considering that you're tracking points destroyed in a game.

No, it’s showing how many points you have left. You add all the points you have left on the board and subtract from 200. So having it round up is correct here.
App has tons of faults, but this isn’t one of them.

No way, that's just dumb. The rules literally tell you to add destroyed points together to work out the winner.
Moreover that makes the sheet completely useless if your opponent wants to see how much they can earn by half pointing something.

That just means the app is dumb and useless, not incorrect.

Where do you see these points? Is it in the same app for Squad building?

Not really. The tournament rules clearly state what it should be giving the user, it's just calculating it incorrectly.

It only shows up when you print a PDF. You only get to the PDF by going to the Share tab first. It's not exactly the easiest thing to find.
Edit: Yes in the official app from FFG. (sorry should have said that first)

I’m surprised nobody had commented on this yet, since there have been so many questions about it. No cross-faction models or dials unless their full names are identical.
And no first edition dials allowed.
Multiple Faction Ships
All ship cards and ship bases in a player’s squad must belong to the same faction. If a player’s ship has different versions in more than one faction, the player may use any version of the miniature and dial that match the full ship name when assembling a squad. All dials must be from Second Edition. Plastic dial backs from the premium maneuver dial kit may be used.
also surprised nobody has commented on this:
QuoteFor the First Edition VCX-100, because the peg does not accommodate a turret arc indicator, a player should place a small single turret indicator on the punchboard, inside the arc the turret occupies.
Or this:
QuoteShip IDs: Ship IDs are numbered pieces of punchboard that are placed in the ship base, fitting into the slots in front of and behind the plastic peg (above the turret arc indicator, if one is present). Players must identify all ships in their squad with a unique ship ID . A corresponding ID indicator must be placed on the ship card. This ID’s number must also correspond to the ship’s lock token(s). The provided ship IDs have black and white sides so that players can indicate which ships are their own. Players may use a marker to color the white side to any color as long
as it is consistent across all ships, the number is readable, and it is distinguishable from the black side of the ID. All of a player’s ships must be identifiable as part of their list by their IDs. Players may also make their own ship IDs and locks, so long as the IDs fit within the slots on the base and clearly correspond the locks.

Its a dumb rule and I'm not gonna be using them anyway. I know, I know: They correspond to the new target locks. Well, I'm not using the new target locks either.

You rebel you.
Ship IDs as a whole are under the nonessential “indicators” section, though. I think those guidelines are for those who choose to mark their ships.
So if I wanted to just run Dash an no other ships apparently that would be illegal

marking your ships is a requirement: "Players must identify all ships in their squad with a unique ship ID.". the included indicators are nonessential because you can mark them in any way that is clear.

Yes. Also, in bad taste.
