The Millenium Falcon, The Starship Enterprise, Serenity, the TARDIS, the Rocinante, the African Queen, the Nautilus, the Pequod...

These are all integral to the stories, they evoke feelings, and while they are sets for the stories, changing how they look would alter our perception of the stories. Serenity was given a warm home feeling, but a give it a colder tone of light and the ship doesn't feel homey. A ship is very much a character, as it sets story, setting, emotion and our perceptions. Knowing that the Falcon is going to malfunction is so integral to it, just as we know Darth Vader is evil.

I'm not sure I really agree, but then again, I'm not a very artistic person. I'll take your word for it.

We need more pilots spoiled. And stat lines... Action bars... Dials. To the people that said this was the yt's preview, yeah that.

Got home and am able to post some screenshots.

Near the beginning of the extended teaser, we see Named Hero Guy flying... I don't know what the ****.

Later, we see some craft identified as pirates.

These pirate craft are shown entering the atmosphere.

(Looks like a heavily modified, salvaged Lambda shuttle and maybe some similarly salvaged Actis Interceptors.)

And then we get a shot of the racers firing their weapons.

In an atmosphere, at the pirates.

It also looks like they fight some kind of sea monster. The planet must have an exciting ecosystem.

All the rest of the fights are in space with T-70's against FO TIEs and TIE Interceptors.

In the trailers. That only implies a possibility that they are not space-faring, it doesn't confirm.

On the other hand, based on some of the other previews, I'm not sure anyone should trust the Fireball in space. It's literally falling apart. The rest of the ships seem like they're in better shape.

The fact that they intercept in atmosphere might be tactical on their part, rather than just happenstance. Or it could be that the pirates had a way of fooling sensors. We shall see when we actually see.

The first one is likely a T-85, as has been discussed in another thread. I'm surprised you didn't post images new Interceptor.

I agree. My gut is telling me that Kaz will be flying a t-85 (the new stubby x-wing) and get noticed by Poe for disobeying orders and firing on the First Order. He joins the resistance and Poe flies a mission with him, or at the very least sends him to Colossus.

Bingo, that's what I'm betting on. Makes the most sense.

Also gives us a reason as to why he hides from that Red Baron during his time on the rig. He knows who he is. Might be vice versa.
