Good morning, I would like to know if that sequence is possible:
Speed movement 3-5
Target lock with force
Focus + barrel
energy expenditure with afterburners

Darth Vader says that after you perform an action, you may spend a Force to perform a second action. So if you perform a target lock action, then spend the Force, and then do the focus -> barrel roll action, you'd be doing it correctly. Yet Afterburners happens directly after you perform you maneuver. So that would look like: maneuver -> spend energy -> boost -> Darth Vader's ability leaves you with either the target lock OR the focus > barrel roll, I'd say...

You have to resolve afterburner first.

So move, ab, force from ability for lock, action step roll link focus is fine.

You can't roll before you boost.

Not quite, as Jaden says, Afterburners happen after your maneuver. So its:

Maneuver speed 3-5

Afterburner used for boost

Target lock (force, can trigger after an action)

Focus & red barrel roll (normal action then linked action, finish stressed)

As noted, you must perform an action to trigger Vader's pilot ability, and your window for Afterburners is immediately after the maneuver.

To resolve all this:

1. Maneuver
2. Afterburners boost
3. Perform action for lock
4. Ability for focus + barrel roll.

Technically, if you used Afterburners first, you can use can use his ability for the lock (triggered by Afterburners boost action) and then his perform action for the focus + barrel roll, but the end result is exactly the same.

So does that mean Afterburners is not his first action? That's how I thought it worked...

No, that does make afterburners the first action.

Afterburners, if used have to be the first thing you do after your manoeuvre.

I got you. ? But I was seeing it as the boost being the first action, then the Force would kick in, leaving either the lock OR the focus -> red barrel roll. Not and... But apparently I’m mistaken.
