Shipless Card pack for wave 1

By TBot, in X-Wing

Is this still a thing? I dont need another x and u model. But would like Saw pilot and crew. Also would like death troopers but not really sold on buying a Reaper. I saw that they put some extra pilots in the conversion kits. Was that what FFg was referring to when they said there would be a way to get wave 1 cards without rebuying ships?

It probably won’t happen until later waves.

Remember, the ace pack of Saw’s renegades wasn’t technically a rerelease of the same model, so I think it’s more likely they’ll just keep those components within it.

And the reaper they definitely won’t be doing a card pack for because it was a net new ship.

Pretty much what @ScummyRebel said.

Remember, Saw's Renegades and the TIE Reaper weren't Wave 1 releases for X-Wing 2.0. They were Wave 14 for 1.0, with some 2nd edition cards thrown in late after announcement.

Now, cards for Lando's Falcon on the other hand (although that's a new release, not a re-released model).

It's pretty confusing honestly.

Conversion kits cover the cards that come in the 2nd edition packs of the X-Wing, Y-Wing, TIE Fighter, TIE Advanced, Fang Fighter and Firespray. The conversion kits also have cards that are not included in any of those packs.

They do not include some of the cards that came with the 2.0 Core set, TIE Reaper, Scum Falcon, or Saw's Renegades.

That's the best way I can explain it. It's hard to qualify it with things like "re-released ships" or whatever because then it's hard to differentiate between the 2nd edition x-wing and the Saw's Renegades, which only had ships in it that already existed in 1st edition.

Yeah, it being a new product rather than an "update kit" makes me really doubt we'll see a card pack for it. Even the non-faction stuff seems more likely to show up in the next batch of rereleases, so maybe a card pack then.

I’m expecting to see them turn up in the packs of new ships. Maybe a “card pack” of a factions “new ship” is a rerelease that wave.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention Han solo gunner too. Dont know if i can justify a third falcon

How is it confusing? They are called conversion kits. Those sets that you listed all have second edition content and therefore do not require conversion.

The “shipless card packs” for wave 1 are like Norra and Thane in the separate packaging within the conversion kit. 90% sure that’s what they’ll be in the future, just sold separately.

Though remember it comes with several other cards, pilots and it is two ships in there.

And it is so CLEAN. Han really is a pig.

Was this ever a thing? I don't recall seeing anything saying that they'd release card only expansions outside the Conversion Kits.

they said they would release conversions that have no plastic in them for future releases of old ships. I don't know where so I can't link it for you.

Basically, when say the b-wing is re-released you won't have to purchase the model just the cardboard and cards. At least that's what they said... Who knows what reality holds for us.

Sounds like people are taking what was said about the Conversion kits and are wistfully carrying that forwards to the expansion pack releases. If you come across the actual quote I'd like to see it.

It was in one or 2 of the long release videos I am sorry I can't find it.

I may be wrong but I am about 90% sure it was stated (I am less then 90% sure it will happen)

Sorry.

What they said was that there would be "a path for people to acquire the cards from future rereleases without needing to rebuy the models". It was very vague and people have been interpreting the statement to mean cardboard packs for each wave.

i wouldnt expect a pack with all the cards from an expansion, but a pack with all the wave cards that are not in the conv. kits
