Best adventure for new players

By cbart2112, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I'm planning on running a Force and Destiny adventure for a group of players who are new to the Star Wars rpgs. They do have experience with other role playing games like D&D. One of the players has played the beginner adventure, so I don't want to do that. Does anyone have an opinion on which adventure would be better "Lessons From the Past/Hidden Depths" or "Chronicles of the Gatekeeper?" Thanks for any advice!

Lessons from the Past in the back of the F&D book is actually a really good starting adventure and Hidden Depths is a good follow up. Plus since you probably have all of this already you don't need to purchase anything else yet. The other thing is both those adventures will work well with mixed groups (ie. not every character has to be a F&D one). I ran them for my mixed group in the beginning of our campaign and they were a lot of fun.

The other option is the Edge of the Empire beginner game, it's designed for EotE PCs but works well with any Career from any of the books.

Any of the modules in the back of the three core books are good places to start, really, and the modules in the GM screens make very good follow-up/Part II adventures for the core book modules. The FFG site has a free module called 'Under a Black Sun' that is pretty good, but needs some work if your players aren't using the pre-generated PC's that come with the module.

Thanks for the advice!
