Unique pilot and crew

By redneckrampage, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So I noticed that the squad builder allowed me to run a name pilot with the same person as a crew member and it gave me no errors. I submitted the error to the squad builder section and then went to find the page of the rules that prohibits this and couldn't find it.

Example, Han Solo flying the falcon With Han Solo on the Gunner slot

Ketsu onyo flying the lancer with Ketsu onyo in the crew slot.

Was this a1.0 rule that didn't make the cut to 2.0 and I didn't notice, or did I miss this section in my rules read through? If so can you point me to the page so I can update my squad builder but post, thanks.

Pages 12 of the Rules Reference:

Some ship cards and upgrade cards have limitations. These limited cards are identified by a number of bullets (•) to the left of their names. During squad building , a player cannot field more copies of cards that share that name than the number of bullets in front of the name.

• For example, if one bullet appears in front of a card’s name, it can be included only once in a squad. Likewise, if two bullets appear in front of a card’s name, it can be included up to twice in a squad.

• This restriction also applies across card types. For example, if a name has two bullets in front of it, the player could field two ship cards with that name, two upgrades with that name, one ship card and one upgrade with that name, etc.

Simple answer - No, as explained by Innese above.

The FFG app, which is supposed to enforce "rules so that players do not accidentally build illegal squads" is not currently doing so.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Cheers
