Aspiration tanks like crazy and blasts the bejeezus out of a lynchpin enemy ship.

Lancers for squads serve 2 purposes. Max bombers vs squad light fleets AND grit makes it harder to lock down. Even against other large squad lists if you spread out your rogues.

After fiddling with a large bid, I instead ditched the damage control officer and went for Bail instead. I may start here with this. I like max squads....and this is one fearsome flagship.

One thing Im wondering here is if the side arcs are easier? Rapid Reload could save a couple points for the loss of a single black dice. That change, along with a couple others, could cause a stronger bid for first.

Bail with MY missions though....

What is Sato for?

To fix those black into red or even blue ones!

K, based on a quick pass I don't like Lancers at all for this. You desperately need Tycho, and Nym will give you the chance to get lucky and snipe off a brace occasionally.

This is what I've come up with, I like Torp Corvettes over CR90B, but that's just a preference.

I don't buy that Bail is a substitute for actually having the initiative either.

Exrax work on short range only, they don't synergize with Sato. Plus no reroll. Why not Dcaps on the Hammers?

Here's a Sato 75 build that Ive had some success with in casual games.

Here are the key points for it in my book: 1) Sato needs fighters able to close with the enemy ships, move with them in the ship phase, and stay alive there, and 2)Sato needs ships that can punch up their damage output at long range.

My approach is to use a GR75 to push Jan and Nym onto my primary target, and bomb with Nym, next I hit it with black dice (and a CF command dial) from the Hammerheads, then follow up with a Gr75 moving the Awings into a blocking position or escort position for Nym/Jan. Finally the MC75 hits the target with the black replacement dice, and can also work to snipe a defense token with the Intel Agent. (Im not necessarily talking though an activation order with the build, just running through the ships, squadrons, and their purpose). The YT2400s move during the squadron phase, and either move into the path of the primary target, or keep an opposing quadron ball away from the Awings/Jan/Nym.

Hammerheads: the Scout has 2 red that can be swapped to black, and Ord Experts for rerolls. D-Caps are too expensive to only add 1 or 2 blue dice all game.

MC75: the goal is to push massive damage at long range, and circle the opposing fleet using the side arc to engage (think Ackbar MC80 Home One flying tactics). Ord experts get black rerolls, and ACMs help with additional damage. Between the Intel Officer and Nym there is a decent chance the opposing target loses defense tokens and can be hammered into destruction on the following round (assuming you can focus fire on it again).

To cut points for a bid, the Intel Officer and the ACMs can be cut or downgraded.

My Sato idea. Lando for protection from big hits cause why not. I am not too worried for a bid so I slapped APTs on the hammerheads which don't synergize as well with ACMs, though it does give them more long range ommf. I mean they can throw 3 blacks at long range and hopefully have a CF token to back it up.

Shara tycho for obvious starting squads. However I throw in Hera for rogue, giving rogue, and grit cause can't let a single squad stump ya. In case that doesn't work, a regular hwk to toss where I need. It was going to be either Han or Hera at this point as Han is pretty darn good with sato actually. Yes I am not bidding for first as much as the others, however I find 10 points to be enough.

Why do people always forget you need Hammerhead double rerolls.... you also do not NEED more squadrons, but if you feel safer, you can remove one of the hammerheads to have more squadrons... I believe this topic has been discussed thoroughly already at least 4 times, so if you want a better thing you can look at past things for sato.
