Using my own made up commander for a fleet!

By TheSoberPug, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

In one of my other posts, I made shriv Suurgav he can absolutely destroy at longe range so I made this fleet and built it around him.

Shriv Suurgav= At max range (3) you may roll 1 additional red die. After firing at max range (3), you may move 2 spaces with a yaw value of 2 for each.

Assault Frigate MK 2 A- Support Officer, Veteran Gunner, Point-Defense Reroute, Early Warning System, Spinal Armanment, Gallant Haven Points- 119

MC80 Assault Cruiser- Strategic Adviser, Engineering Team, Early Warning System, Electronic Counter Measures, SW-7 Ion Batteries, Enhanced Armanment, Defiance Points- 157

Nebulon-B Escort Frigate- Ashoka Tano, Projection Experts, Redemption Points- 73

Squadrons- Luke Skywalker, 2x X-Wings Points- 46

Feel free to give me some advice on changing the fleet

It’s difficult to give advice on a custom Admiral- but here goes.

x.) Where is the Admiral, how much does it cost?

1.) You don’t need to use every slot on a ship. Take out Point Defence Reroutes, Engineering Team and Support Officer. You might want to be brawling at closer ranges with Gallant Haven, so maybe Electronic Counter Measures helps here? Or maybe you don’t need it the title. Try Caitken and Shollan for the weapons team slot.

2.) Mostly due to the above point, the assault frigate is far too expensive. It will be focused down and killed. Try to build to its strengths, instead of mitigating weaknesses- make its side arc really good.

3.) MC80- You throw a lot of red dice, with no rerolls. What happens that one time you roll 4 blanks? Try Leading Shots.

4.) Generally, offence > defence. Try a Salvation Nebulon to maximise the Admiral. The Salvation title and Quad Battery Turrets or Spinals works well.

5.) Spend extra points on a squadron.

This Admiral basically gives you free nav and concentrate fire commands (!) so you should be able to use one ship to command squadrons.

Play as second player and choose objectives that make them come to you.

Shriv costs 16 and is on the MC80

Um... I don't think you realize how amazing that is... I think this commander is very broken. If you want a suggestion, I would knock that free move down to speed 1 with 1 click bc that is a lot more balanced, but even then it is still way to good for 16 points... I think at that it should be an easy 40... basically you get 1 command each turn and with him you get a command, confire and a nav all in one... now sure it has to be range 3, but if you build him right you can make a way op build...

Maybe I am wrong, but 5 CR90s at long range with a potential 6 red dice is too good to be true, and then they all get a free engine techs without a nav command.

Shriv Suurgav= At max range (3) you may roll 1 additional red die. After firing at max range (3), you may perform a speed 1 move with a yaw value of 1 .

That edit is a good idea. I’ll increase the cost to 35 and change it to that. Thanks!
