I guess my answer on a new Core Set depends on if you mean the current factions or say the Clone Wars.

Maybe 2 Arquitens versus a LMC80, to make for a similar but inverted experience of the current Core Set?

Lower the price point, if at all possible make 2 Core sets, one for each faction and try and get the price around $50-$60. Currently the Core components that you have to have are the Damage Deck, the Objectives, and Range Ruler. You can get 3rd party range rulers. If they other required components were sold separately that could work too.

The problem with both suggestions are additional SKU's. Stores generally want to keep individual SKU's to a minimum. Armada has fewer than X-Wing and IA and Legion is very quickly catching up. Armada could probably handle the extra SKU's, FFG has shown a willingness to provide alternate Damage decks with X-Wing, they could do similar with Armada.

Just make the game more accessable. X-Wing has a $40 Core, Armada is more than twice that. Find a way to cut Armada down to $60 and I think we are talking.

A happy weekend to everyone! I would like to see a new Clone Wars set, but others may disagree. Also, a Star Wars film from an imperial perspective would be awesome (thread closed due to asinine political divergence before I could respond)!!!

I think we can stick with the $99 MSRP if the ships that are included are iconic.

Replace the Victory in the core with an ISD. Add to the Rebels some Y-Wings and maybe a Medium Transport.

Yeah, the margins might not be as good as they are now, but I bet they sell more. It might even be a loss-leader, but more expansions sold means more expansions developed.

Second core set should be clone wars. I think at least half of the community is with me on that. I know the devout followers of #teamvenator (shout out to all of the founders like @Gottmituns205) are right behind me on this. However, I'm not sure what ships would be best for the new set. I like the idea that the republic would be under manned. They could have an aclimator and a consulor or an aclimator and an arquitens. I also think that instead of ARC-170's (my fav starfighter btw) they should have V-19 torrents. Go for that early war theme. The seps could get a munificent or recusant. The seps should also get vulture droids. Duh. Save the big ships like venators and providence destroyers for expansions like they did for the MC-80 and ISD. Just like they did for the galactic civil war, FFG released the early war items first. I think they should stick to that trend for clone wars. They would have continuous releases and add to the longevity of Armada by double. Just my thoughts. #teamvenator for the win baby. Have a great weekend y'all.

I think new Core Boxes could help to draw people in, but only if they would be cheaper than the existing one. I could imagine, that a box for 1 faction only with a medium and small ship together with some squadrons.

Best reason for a new starter set would be new faction(s). But I could maybe be interested in a Rebel starter with 6 headhunter squadrons. (And if it would be a bargain compared to 3x rebel squadron II expansions.)

• Cheaper to get more people into the game.
• Ships that are also for interest for the old players
• Most importantly: A complete overhaul of most of the objectives!

I think the next core, if ever, will be Clone Wars era stuff. I don't see FFG cutting the price, and making a new core "for fun".

Basically the squadron reprints are on order since 4/18 so I was guessing there would be something different to include them .

Just make 2 faction starters. Keep the original core content for each side along with adding a Hammerhead and 2 Y-wings for Rebels and an Arquitens and some Interceptors/Bombers for the Imps. These choices would allow you to use every upgrade in the core box for each side. Then you can throw in some extra upgrades for the boxes. Dual Turbolaser turrets, Ion Cannon Batteries, Flight Controllers, new titles for the Hammerhead and Arquitens too.
