Future ships & cards in X Wing 2.0?

By Lselda, in X-Wing

Hi all,

Just wondering what is FFG's plan about future ships and pilot cards for 2.0?

Coz idk whether to buy the first ed ships and just use the conversion kit's pilot cards.

I mean will all pilot cards and upgrade cards be present in the conversion kits or will they make expansions on 2.0 giving more cards and ships in them?

The conversion kits only cover everything in wave 1 (minus the Core Set) and only a hand full of pilots from future waves. Any ship that comes out will have new upgrade cards (a possibly more named pilots). FFG has said that there would be ways to get these upgrades without needing to buy another ship model. Just know this only applies to ships that existed in 1.0 and not brand new ships like Lando's Falcon, Mining Guild TIE Fighter, and RZ-2 A-Wing.

If you want to fly the yet unreleased first edition ships in second edition now or you want some of the alternate paint schemes that came in first edition, get first edition and conversion kits.

If you can wait, wait for the second edition re-release of those ships.

FFG is surely going to design extra pilots, configurations, titles and upgrades for the re-released ships.
If the little bag included in each conversion kit in Wave 1 is a preview of FFG's plans for these new content for old ships, it seems that the expansion pack for the re-released ship in later waves will include all pilots that come in the Wave 1 conversion kit for that ship, plus new ones, plus new stuff.
Then they will pack all the new stuff in a little faction specific Wave Conversion Kit for those that don't want to buy the re-released ship. This Wave Conversion Kit will only include new content that comes in re-released ships. Absolutely new ships and the upgrades packed with them will not come in this Wave Conversion Kit.
