This exemplifies the biggest issue with the handling of the app. They've botched the launch so bad they've created a situation where what is supposed to be the authoritative source is considered unreliable.

So not only do we have to take our opponents word that their list is legal as we can't check their phone unless there is internet available, but the fallback of using good old paper and pen is now a fail.

Because you can still create a list with Vader as a pilot and a crew member on a shuttle - we have to assume the app is in error. As far as I know, FFG has issued no announcement about the app being up to date or fully corrected, so I assume it is wrong.

The 3rd party app I use doesn't have this problem.

The one does not follow from the other. The app containing known errors makes it an unreliable authority, at best, but it does not necessarily mean that everything in it is in error. Especially when the Vader issue is a matter of rules and checks, while the cost issue is simply a value lookup.

Sure it does.

Basic Question: "Is the app error free?"

Answer: "NO - One Example is Vader Pilot and Crew in the same list, thus the app has errors." Incorrect point values are another example of error. Until FFG confirms that the app is error free, it should be assumed that there is a possibility of error.
