Blackout getting his own massive buff to I5 with the innate ability to double reposition will finally be a viable alternative to Kylo, and with debris gambit (fittingly originally designed for him) he can both evade and reposition in the same turn. With the buffed-up collision detector as a very viable option, the nerf to advanced sensors and the 3-banks turning white don't hurt so badly.
As for Kylo, Supernatural Reflexes can turn him absolutely bonkers, even moreso than 1st edition. Yes, the Grand Inky can reposition>>focus+clear with blue+final action, but with force users not needing focus so badly unless juke is in play, Kylo's reposition>>>second reposition+clear with blue+final action is both more diverse and powerful. Also, Kylo actually moves at a very satisfying speed. Despite the drop to I5, he is now having 3 actions on turns such as these (essentially 4, if you count him spending a force like a calculate). Granted, there are no 1.0 autothrusters or Vanguard to boost defense, but these changes are surely boosting his established status as a supership. Furthermore, with Advanced Optics, that 3rd action could be focusing anyway so that the focus can change a blank to a hit whilst force handles a focus result. Let us also not forget that Supernatural Reflexes opens up the system slot to wonders such as collision detector or the (still amazing) FCS. Oh, and Panicked Pilot! will be Kylo's new favorite crit to throw around, essentially telling a ship it may not perform actions save for Ap-5 or afterburners! Even if dark side is changed to faceup damage and not critical, that is still a great ability.
I look forward to the Sequel Conversion wave. At long last the Silencer will no more be that weird ship with generic elites that don't see much play and a Backdraft/Old Terroch of the expansion that seems fun but is inferior to the absolute madlad of the ship. Let's hope the grunt test pilots retain their power despite the change of Optics to the effect of old Weapons Guidance.
