Most Wanted

Crappy cards make Squads melt like butta! Quad Lasers, Flak with 2 dice, Toryn and Gunnery teams to supliment. Cluster bombs on important squads....boom! This list will LOL at squads. Yavaris activates a b-wing on you? It only attacks twice if it survives! Counter attack with toryn then a cluster bomb....5 possible damage! You cannot brace a cluster bomb. Bye bye Ten Numb!

While it seems a lot of gear, the reality is only 25pts in the list are squadron only defenses. A pittence. These defences are far more useful than a couple A-wings. Worse...a token force of squads will likely not even attack....they will get shredded too fast.

Its ship vs ship only in this game, unless you just want your squads dead. Ship vs Ship, and Im moving speed 3 with Craken.

Ships speak for themselves. Move fast, tank, plink away at targets.

Deployment advantage on 2 missions likely....or choose Most Wanted. Solar Corona makes it even harder to target the ships while ambush seperates the enemy hopefully long enough to capitalise....main reason for Ambush is the fighter placement rules for deploy advantage though.

2 Yavaris attacks is enough to effectively table you, is the only problem. Assuming you shield the flagship and she kills admo and the other frigate with those 2 attacks sure you claimed the squadball but its still a net loss cause you are down 207 points.

You could get lucky with cluster bombs and get that clutch kill. But since Yavaris will likely last first you, your flak could be really ineffective.

Why not just go Ackbar?

Because you have to shoehorn him into this build and you lose an activation. Its also easier here to handle the fighter swarm. No decision to 'lose two dice' as it were.

Tried it.

While 'not bad' with ackbar, this build allows to really show off Cracken and you dont have to skimp points to do it.

Its an alright Ackbar build. Its an interesting and 'makes sense' Cracken build.

I think you might be overestimating Yavaris usefulness here.

Ignoring the fact that Quantum is bait that Yavaris will have trouble ignoring...

Counting on last/firsting me before I soften up the ball with Flak and hit those sides with my superior speed is a dream. Admo with Walex? We all know Admo laughs off some fighter attacks....and it could be speeding 4...how are you gonna predict his position for a double tap?

Admo on the other hand, she can shred the crap out of some Yavaris, fast! If not one shotting her, making her an easy kill for either assault frigate at range.

Imagine the horror of Yavaris crew seeing Admo double arc ANY hull and box her in at her slow speed after Quantum is done from extreme range slicing her. We can play the "if I do this you are dead" game all day for sure. I dont think a single slow outmaneuverable nebulon is one of this lists 99 problems though.

Yavaris is also likely most wanted target unless you want to give up your deployment advantage.

That all being said, I have a game this weekend against an intense rebel fighter list...including Yavaris.

Even without Admo pressing home the attack...a bwing cloud getting the drop on Assault frigates long range peppering your ships while moving speed 3?....

....that would be some sorcery worth witnessing.

I appreciate your input though Broba so dont think Im dissin' you out of hand here.

Just trying to give my lackluster Admiral and some unused cards and ships ( the MK II a's) a fair shake.

Cracken isn't lackluster, he is really strong. Been seeing a lot of cracken MSU + Rogue/bombers lately and it's nasty.

Interesting keep us updated on how this performs

They may not attack your main ships, but they'll still pick at your flotillas. And I would totally throw a token force at a main ship to finish it off.

The fleet doesn't have much damage output. If you're spending attacks on squads, you're looking at two 3-red dice attacks each turn, and likely a single flyby with Admo. I see that having trouble taking down meaty ships.

This does also have a bit of an issue with Rhymer and friends. With Imperial 2-ships on the rise, this is something to consider.

Basically this seems like a strong counter to squad heavy, but seems like it will have a hard time with other fleets that have low to no squads.

I would definitely like to hear how this fleet does and also if you regret not taking ECMs instead or not.

I think you'll regret Fleet Ambush when someone puts their ISD-II with Gunnery Teams (or Demolisher, or Ackbar MC80, etc.) in the ambush zone. Since you've got Admo, why not Hyperspace Assault?

Thought of more reasons why Fleet Ambush is a bad idea

Get rid of Fleet Ambush and you have yourself a fleet.
