May sound like a silly question, but how many points do people normally play? I've only just started playing, everyone I have seen play locally plays 300 points, but all the online stuff I have seen are generally 400.

tournament play is 400pts; casual can be any level, but 400 seems pretty universal

400 pts is standard. But when you just started playing it is okay to play 250 or 300 pts. There is a thread about playing 200 pts. at 3x3 play mat:
The advantage is that the game is less complicated and develops faster. You can try cards and concepts with less time and effort. I play for two years now and still like the smaller games!
Done as low as 200 and as high as 1000

200 points with no commanders is a GREAT way to learn the game as you get to play more games in the amount of time and learn ship strategy and tactics. I’ve also been playing for a couple years and more recently tournaments and I still LOVE 200pt games.

Usually i play 800 point mega-brawls, but we're going to tone it down to 600 next time we play just for the heck of it ?
I think that the rebels do better at the lower points (not saying they do bad at higher points) as they have lots more options.

I have a general rule that games must be a "minimum" of 400 points. Most of my games reach into the 600-800 point range, with a 1500 point game having happened last year. I am planning for an even bigger event, but I'm going to need to reserve space at my FLGS before that happens, haha.
I think I played my first game at 300 points, my next few games were all Corellian Conflict and ranged from 400-500 points (or 1500, in the AAO). Since then in casual games (and of course tournaments) I've always played 400 points.

There can be only one.
Have only played the standard 400 points so far, but would really like to do a bigger battle sometime and truly build an Armada.
Sadly time makes it so that I don't play often and bigger battles would be even more time consuming.
