4 player game possible?

By Zanndakar, in Star Wars: Legion

Hey,

Are there players out there that play 4 player games? 2 vs 2 , rebels or imps win.

400 pt each? 1 commander per site, veers can be played 2 times otherwise the one who deploys Darth Vader has almost no mini's :) or 800 pt each for an large epic battle?

If you played a 4 player game what did you encounter? any tips?

Regards,

orrr just thinking out lout here, 1 fixed commander, 600pt to choose an army. So people can pick an AT-ST if they want per example

all players playing a command card?

Yes, i think all players should get 7 command cards

How do you envisage that working?

I have played a couple 4 players games (2 vs 2). We played it a bit differently than above though. Both teams built one list together each and then divided those units between themselves. When it came to the overall leader (if only one commander was present), then they both would decide together on what that model did. Teams went into separate areas to discuss their overall tactics and what each player was going to attempt before deployment but after the condition/objective cards were decided. Each team was given time between rounds to discuss new strategies etc... else anything during the round was chatted openly at the table.

This was a lot of fun.. the game took longer but no one seemed to notice as everyone was very much into it. Afterwards we talked about how it played and everyone was quite eager to do another one.

This i think would be alot of fun!

We did a game with 8 players, 4 to a side. Each side nominated a commander. No problems, it is how we play most games.

I envisage it as following:

600points per player (1200points per side)

7 command cards per player, so each player has some influence in the turn.
Imp player A has 2 dots
Imp player B has 3 dots
Reb player A has 3 dots
Reb player B has 1 dot
Imp has 5 dots vs 4 dots rebs, imps win the turn order is as following:
Imp Player B, Reb Player A, Imp Player A, Reb Player B

Imp B before Reb A because imp side has more dots overal, and roll if even.

Is that not back to front?

Ah yes of course, but what do you think? viable to play like this?

Have them have their own command hand and alternate choosing a command card. I would make each side share one big bag of order markers. A green poker chip with a triangle means one of my corps activates, a yellow chip with a triangle means my ally activates a corps unit.
