Initiative One Episode 22: The Brotherhood of Cool, or 17 Point Stun Dummy

By FranquesEnbiens, in Runewars Miniatures Game

Back to normal...we record the day before an article - well played, FFG. We finally know everything in the Baron Z and Lord V boxes, so we look at a few ways you might build them out. (Are we super in on Rune Golems...?)
Articles are coming at a rapid pace, and we saw a bunch of new stuff for the Uthuk. Viper Legion dials, an equipment that comes with them, and a whole pile of cards (well, a small portion of the huge pile) that comes with Th'Uk Tar and Gorgemaw. We review some of those cards, make wild guesses at some we can't see, and wander into some dubious speculation about Terrinoth lore.

I really enjoy listening to the podcast and I’m really looking forward to the community building one.

You’re certainly in the top 3 Runewars podcasts ??

The only criticism I have is I do think it’s too long sometimes.

90 (ish) mins is a fair chunk to keep filling with good quality content.

I felt the wild speculation part this time could easily have been cut down or taken out as I don’t think it added much. I certainly felt my attention wandering (admittedly after a tough day at work when I was driving home)

I hope you don’t mind constructive (hopefully constructive anyway) feedback

Thanks for all the work that goes into the production.

I feel the same about all the podcasts. I end up listening to nobe of them because I can't find time to sit through the whole thing. And there are a couple Runewars podcasts that I started, didn't finish, and now don't remember how far I listened or even which ones I started.

I admit, this is a bit of a personal problem. Maybe podcasts just don't fit my current lifestyle, so you all shouldn't necessarily cater to me.

Best way is to listen while doing work, at least if you have a job that allows for such.

Exactly. Like sitting in a dark room watching moths fly upwind to pheromone lures. It's a good job.

Or driving 40 minutes to the closest friendly not-so-local game store that plays Runewars. That's a great time to listen to a Runewars podcast.

Does the podcast affect the moths' abilities to navigate? Have you found any correlation between topics and navigational efficiency?

Good question! I always listen with headphones, so moth behavior remains to be tested. But my behavior certainly changes depending on the topic - especially when Waiqar pity begins to manifest.

What do you listen to them on? Sounds like you might need better software. On Android, my favorite app for it is called Podcast Addict; it will keep track of which episodes you've listened to (marking finished ones with a checkmark) and also save your spot in any partially-listened episodes.

I usually just listen from a web browser. ?

Ah, well that would definitely do it. I don't think I'd really get into podcasts either if I was tied to a desk when listening. I usually listen while driving or, very occasionally, in the bath. :D

I listen in the car or if I’m out for a long run. Having two or three hour long podcasts helps take my mind off the boredom of a long run.

I listen to my podcasts while driving, doing yardwork, or painting.

Like @Zetan says, it's all about the app you use. My app of choice on Android is Pocket Casts. Lots of options for doing things like skipping intros by starting X seconds into a podcast (and you can set it independently for each podcast you listen to), automatically downloading, how to set up playlists, and so on. It will also remember your place in partially listened-to podcasts, and so on. Free with ads, or a quite reasonable couple bucks without.
