He's on per-diem from the Empire, use it or lose it!

I'd contend that it COULD be a significant alteration to the height, as if you found a rock to affix to the base that provided roughly the same lift as the replaced peg, then there would be little to no alteration to the height. I think cover is the major issue, and it might fall under "dramatically changing the shape."

But yeah, doesn't matter for casual play. Luckily, paint jobs don't matter for official play, so we at least have that freedom of expression on "Boba Fett."

Indeed: and a head swap for a rebel trooper's open faced helmet would give you a generic armory lookin' guy.

Yeah, don't want the fuel budget cut for the next quarter! Still, While I understand the "clear peg cover rule" for repulser vehicles, for infantry I would have prefered some manner of exception. I doubt it will make much difference though, as it stands his defence is rather sturdy, so making it slightly harder to get cover from the top of buildings isn't the end of the world.

I really like the sculpt and that is not the same pose for most units lol

I’m sure they pay above market rate, as per usually for government contracts.

I halfways expect this to be errata'd. I think he's supposed to be a regular model in game, and we'll find out the sculptor and the rules writer weren't on the same page.

Nicest looking sculpt so far. Cant wait to get paint on it and table time.

I wonder about just gluing one foot to the base and maybe putting a rock under the other foot, to make it look like he is running.

Oh yeah, this is exactly what I was thinking put small rocks or something under the feet to make it look like he’s climbing

Just started painting him... looking really good, much better than the IA mini IMO.

Ahhhhhh, am I the only one that noticed the base was GREEN!!!!!

Imps = Black bases
Rebel = Red Bases
Scum & Villiany = Green Bases???

This basically confirms the third faction

I agree, good sculpt, they worked hard on getting the detail into this one. Shame about Han & Leia.

This is so much true... boba is Superb, Luke and Vader were great, Veers is a decent job but looks like Han and Leia were not sculpted by the same ppl. I find the disparity on quality really odd

When the release article photos showed up, all I could think of was the Robot Chicken sketches.

"...almost like you're beggin'... beggin' for a little Boba."

He's totally murdering ewoks in that pose.

You can read the tournament regulations here. The applicable bit to this thread says "Players cannot modify minis...to significantly alter their height." Not using a peg that a mini is supposed to be elevated on would be a significant alteration to that mini's height, as well as determining when it gains cover.

Doesn't matter for casual play, of course.

The peg is only there to give him the appearance of flying, his foot sits only about a millimeter above the base of the peg. Compared to the wide range that you can modify an AT-ST's height by its poseable legs, or any trooper miniature by using a textured basing paint this is a non-issue.

My Boba is base coated and washes are going on now.

Just have to say, imo, what an absolutely brilliant sculpt and model.

That is only partly true. I agree that The hight shouldn't be a big issue. You can also have some rocks or anything for a similar elevation. But the rules also clearly distinguish between models on the ground and models on pegs, namely the pegs and bases are ignored for LOS. This can make a difference when determining cover. So I wouldn't have any problem playing against figures without the pegs as long as it is treated in game terms as being on a peg.

Finished Boba Fett, I'm always keen to abandon the hordes of partly painted troopers for the chance at a complete a character mini :)

Star Wars Legion - Boba Fett

.....oooooorrrrrr you can actually put the model together and find out he is just at tad taller than a stormtrooper and the same height as Lord Vader and decide not to worry about it.
