Hawk Tattoo gets errata-ed. Random first player and no more extra fate turn 1 for going second. A couple other things, but those are the big ones that jump out at ya.

Random first player was always the RRG rule. Choice for winner of the random determination is an organized play rule.
My real question is will the lack of bonus turn 1 fate still be enough of a factor to make players opt for the first conflict opportunity over the option for first conflict on turn 2 when fate on rings is a consideration?
So something that was pointed out to be in another group. The only reason players had choice to go 1st or 2nd after winning the roll off was because the setup rules in the Official Tournament rules let them make the choice, and those rules still reference the player who isn't going 1st gets the bonus fate so in theory that would still be in effect unless stated otherwise by a tourney organizer.
I'll be curious to see if we are getting an updated Tourney Rules to reflect the changes now.
I think these were superb changes and very much needed. It also shows that the design team is truly paying attention and listening! Great news all around!
Losing that 2nd player fate is going to be a BIG change. I wonder why they decided to do that. I don't recall the forum exploding about it being unfair, as forums have been known to do from time to time.

Its been a topic on several of the Pod casts for a while now. Plus tourney results seemed to be showing a disproportionate favor to the 2nd player having advantage as well (at least the online ones that are easier to track).

QuoteDuring a duel, the bid on a player’s honor dial is applied as a modifier independently of the normal process of calculating modifiers. It is added to the appropriate statistic even if that statistic has been set to a specific number, and is added after doubling and/or halving modifiers are calculated.
Looks like Crab doesn't have the best duelist any more, and I for one approve.
Where does it say the second player no longer gets extra fate? I cant find it D=

Look under setup, the language for fate for the player not chosen as first player is no longer present.

Ah I see. Thanks. I was desperately looking for blue text which stated it =P
The advantage of 2nd was pretty huge, bonus fate and it worked out in a way where they could get the first fate from a ring.
There's a disconnect between the RRG and Floor Rules however, they should streamline both somewhere.

I agree with you that they probably could have done something to indicate the absence, instead of just leaving it out.

I see at least 2 situations were goig first is more interesting: against voltron decks and many times against heavy control like scorpion is very rare 4 rings being claimed in t1.. that minimize the fate on ring t2 its a thing to consider to gain tempo. And against FoF is always interesting go first to choose void.
Also if you want to be a hipster player you can run some ways of unicorn..
