Thunderdome - Hero edition

A suggestion for a dumb fun distraction.

140 Points. Heroes only

3x3 mat

2 player deployment: 2 in from each edge. 4 Deep

3 player deployment: 3x3 in northwest, 3x3 in northeast, 2 in, 4 deep on south side.

4 player deployment. Either 2 in and 4 deep on each edge OR 3x3 in each corner.

8 rounds.

Score is total points killed and total points surviving. Not sure on this one.

Every player bring 3 terrain pieces and draws 1 randomly. If just 2 players, draw 2 each. You choose which side of that terrain piece is used. Take turns by initiative placing 1 piece of terrain at a time

Yeah. 3 heroes each

So, Kari wins? Only hero who shoots on Init2, and can take Fortuna's Die. Once she gets into melee, her surge ability allows her to apply pretty much only the damage she needs to do ish heroes off to make her very efficient

Maybe. But Ravos is gonna roll up after her ranged shots, eat for a wound. Then, after taking on round of shooting from her, kill her on the charge.

Hawthorne at armor 5 shrugs off her shots and most of her surge damage.

Aliana can run Ambush Predator and Just smoke Kari in a shot without Kari getting to fire once

EDIT: To be clear, if she does start triggering her surges without high risk, she will do similar to what you said

I like the potential to this.

I'd advocate for 125-130 points, force a bit of decision making and differentiate builds a bit.

Poor Waiqar gets hosed, Ardus and Ankaur need support terribly (and are probably bad even still) so Vorun'thul will have to try to carry.

Daqan is probably best focusing on ranged attacks and control, hoping that Nerekhall Training and Hawthorne can create an unfair fight. Would be interesting.

Maegan's AoE is much less useful with so few targets with low defense, but Aliana is a killer and Faolan is a solid brawler. Etharyon of the Ailatar becomes pretty clutch.

Uthuk have Ravos who is excellent at killing heroes, Kethra who probably wants Bonecaster and dialing in a mortal for probably 2 wounds per attack, and Th'uk Tar... probably on Gorgemaw? Tough to say until we see more.

This sounds fun! I find myself tempted to halt growing my locust swarm and instead buy $150-worth of heroes from other factions.

Budgernaut, my brother. Never stop growing our swarm. The others that dare step to us must be squashed below our boot like the bugs they are.

On a side note, @Wraithist and I did this once a long time ago with Daqan v Waiqar.

Also I think 3-4 terrain pieces on a 3x3 is going to be way too cumbersome, especially if you have a lot of large ones. I would say 2 terrain pieces is more than enough.

Everyone knows the combo of Ravos, Kethra, and Thu'uk Tar is going to be unstoppable. If Ardus was a little beefier I would say this could go to them only because of Vorunthul or whatever.

The 3rd hero for everyone is pretty awesome.
