On ship plans, they are called refreshers. One of the reasons why I like the Starlight light freighter (i tend to really like ships that have weird flaws) is that the refresher is notoriously awkward in design due to being designed by an insectoid race with different sensibilities to humans.

Yeah and this is another choice as far as feel. Do you want to go so realistic that you are describing freshly killed humans voiding bowel and bladder? I know that there was poop jokes in the prequels, but how far down that road do yo want to go? Just like with the technology, the inclusion of certain real/extrapolated elements will likely have a ripple effect. Running this setting to fidelity is the hardest challenge I have ever had as a GM. The Do's and Don'ts are myriad and sometimes they inconvenience people who want to just act "normal," or project familiar reality. Everyone's game is there own thing, but there is source material so there is some ability to interpret it conservatively in the hopes of not introducing too many tangential elements.

Ok, I wasn't able to find a WiFi toaster, but I did find a WiFi slow cooker. That's pretty close as far as analogies go.

I really should have read to the end before adding my .000002 credits because we’re way past this point.
