Proximity Mines

"" When this device detonates, that ship rolls 2 attack dice. That ship then suffers 1 hit damage plus 1 hit / critical hit damage for each matching result."

What does that mean exactly? You take 1 damage automatically and then roll for more? What does 'matching' mean?

1 regular damage plus 1 hit per hit rolled and 1 crit per crit rolled.

Results are on dice, so 'matching results' would be whatever was just rolled. Hits/crits do their respective damage, just like an attack, only there's no defense involved.

Basically, if a ship overlaps the Proximity Mine:

  1. First, it suffers 1 damage...
  2. ...then, it rolls 2 attack dice...
  3. ...and suffers whatever damage results are showing on the dice.

In effect, it's like Proximity Mine of old, except instead of rolling all 3 dice, you get one auto-hit, and 2 random results.

Thanks all. I've only played one game of 2.0 so far and the guy who dropped the mine thought you took one damage if you rolled two hits and one crit if you rolled two crits because those results 'match'. It seemed wrong but I wanted to check. I guess the card could have said you suffer every *relevant symbol* rolled, but whatever.

Look at this guy. Wants FFG to use unambiguous language on their cards.
