I think the only faction that would benefit from deep EU cuts is Scum. Once FFG gets the main 5 factions up and running I'm expecting them to start on Republic and CIS. After episode IX and about 3 years of Star Wars Resistance you'll have more material for Resistance and First Order. You might see the Heavy TIE from Solo, but I think Rebels and Empire are largely done with the exception of their 2.0 re-releases.

The Star Wars train might be slowing down a bit, but the ship you see in movies and TV are going to take precedence over ships that were in video games and novels. On the bright side Star Wars might raid the EU toy chest if they're on a deadline and there's an interesting enough ship still out there.
