How are you building your tie punishers, and do you prefer seismic charges or proton bombs, because it seems like proton bombs aren't good.

Redline + Tragedy Stimulator + Proton Bomb + Proton Torpedo = Sick Beast @ 61 points... add prockets for a gross r1 attack, and he's 68.
Edit - Add Skilled Bombadier, Seismics, and Ablative Plating for when you launch a proton then move to block enemies into it, and he comes in at a cool 70 (No prockets though)
Bomblets are also decent. 2 hits per ship in the blast is nothing to sneeze at. For the same price as proton bombs it frees up points for elsewhere in the list. Reload does work with them.

It's just that i only play against rebels, and they are full of shields, that's why i was thinking that SC could be better.

Thats legit, but iirc, seismics might do 2 damage, but they might also do 0.

Seismic is 1 damage range 1 from exploded obstacle. Proton is 1 crit range 1 from bomb token. Seismic has more range, but proton is a crit.
Only 6 obstacles on the game board, and they can be useful to box in ships.
Bomblet is nice, but not guaranteed hits and reload takes a bit longer (unless you burn shields).
1. Choose Redline
2. Equip with Advanced Sensors & Barrage Rockets
3. Wash, Rinse ... Repeat

Eh, I'm a dummy. For some reason my brain mashed the 2 die roll from Prox Mines into Seismics. Ignore me.
for Deathrain i prefer bombletts since his ability needs you to drop a bomb you can eat a shield to get both charges back in a pinch.
i really dont know why people think proton bombs are so amazing now. Nobody used them when they dealt a faceup card, why are they suddenly amazing when they just do a crit? Yes theyre cheaper than 1.0 (5pts still but in a 200pt game so basically half off) but seismics are even cheaper and tend to piss off a LOT of lists right now by removing the rocks.

Sadly, only a guaranteed crit if your opponent has no shields...
Redline - seismic charge, proton bombs, ablative plating, trajectory simulator, proton torpedoes - 68 points.
I've been running redline with both protons and seismics. It's a toolbox of bombs that can be used differently for different situations. I haven't used skilled bombadier, but he's only 2 points .
I think some of what you run on him depends on your other ships. Who are you running alongside the punisher?
