I logged a game, but when I go to review it (Open Continuation), the table is is not populated like when I save my fleet. I only see the text from the log. What do I need to do differently?

How do you review it? A save way is simply to click on the logfile (in contrast to setting up a gaming table and starting the logfile) and then hitting the page down key on your keyboard maniacly.

Do you A) create a new room/game and then Load Continuation? B) Just associate the vlog with Vassal and run it directly?

In both cases u just have to step forward button/PAGE DOWN

Edit: LOTS of times to play through an entire game...

I did A and with the step forward, I could see the text above and the occasional tool on the table, but no ships. I started the log partway through the first round, so perhaps that’s an issue? Do I need to start the log before loading the fleet?

No, that shouldn't be a problem. You can start it whenever.

Go find a vlog file on your disk.

Right click and open with Vassal check for always.

Now u can double click any vlog to start vassal with that log loaded.

Guaranteed to work.

Thanks for the tips. I tried the “open with” method as well, but all it does is open Vassal as normal and once I’ve set up a game, I still have to load continuation. I’m on a MacBook, so that might be relevant.

Ah mac. Could be that. Hard to check, as my airbook is dead.

I have successfully duplicated the issue.

This happens when you:
1) as you stated, start a log mid-game, and
2) create a NEW game, then
3) load the continuation.

The correct method to start a replay from the middle is to choose "Load Game" and pick your replay log. Then all the ships will appear as they were when you started logging, and you will be able to step forward through the log from there.
