Where are they now???

By swordfishson, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

The Younglings from the Gathering in the Clone Wars.

Petro , a human ; Katooni , a Tholothian ; Byph , an Ithorian ; Ganodi , a Rodian ; Zatt , a Nautolan ; and Gungi , a Wookiee

The Younglings from a Padawan lost in the Clone Wars.

Jink, a Twi'lek and O-Mer a Cerean

So I would like to use an assortment of these characters in assorment of ways for the game (a mentor, NPC or even a PC) but I wasn't sure if there was anything that was said on what happened to them after we see them in the series. I've tried Googling them and I can only really find what we already learned about them. So if anybody has any sources/ info on any of these characters from after their episodes, please let me know.

Thanks everybody any and all comments and opinions are welcome.

Canonically? Nothing's been officially revealed. However, it's likely, though not certain, that they were killed during Order 66.

Yeah that's kind of what I assumed. I probably wouldn't / shouldn't keep them all alive but I definitely want to use some of them as either mentors, NPCs or PCs in some of my games.

Nothing preventing you from doing it.

This fan art that I first saw a couple of years ago has had me wondering how I might fit them in as “guest star” NPCs in my own campaign.

I always thought Katooni would take Hondo up on his offer and become part of his crew, at least for a little while. They had a nice moment in "A Necessary Bond."

I'd like to think that at least some of them lived...

And joined the Inquisitorius!

Well we know some people survived O66, because in Revenge, Obi-Wan clearly states that he sent out a message to anyone in the Order, warning them about the purge. That implies that an unspecified number of people likely survived. Which is all the "canonical" wiggle room you need (though you don't need any at all, it's your table, let whoever you want live), to have them survive and show up in your campaign.

I've used a particular scene in Revenge to justify a PC's background during O66. The teenage padawan who attempts to cut his way through that trooper squad to get to Senator Organa's speeder (but ultimately dies). There's a very neat thing about that scene. He clearly snuck up on them without them noticing him (despite the very long walkway leading to the landing bay), and when he started fighting them, they all basically turned to face and focus on him, not the temple. So I said "ok, well he died being a distraction for my PC to escape, boom, job done, on with the rest of his backstory." So aside from the very easy to utilize "they were on another planet somewhere, and heard about the purge due to Obi-Wan's message", that's a very easy way to have at least some of them escape. They scurry down the building, utilizing small handholds, their Force powers to jump down long distances, and Conveniently Sized Air Ducts to basically scale down the temple to one of the lower levels of Coruscant, and then to freedom until they show up in your game.

It's really super easy to come up with a reason they escape, and have it fit canon. But personally, screw canon, you don't have make it fit for your table. When canon becomes a barrier to fun and enjoyable storytelling, that's when you grab canon by it's noodley appendages, and chuck in a trash compactor.

Agreed. While I respect what they did with Hondo in Rebels, I never liked it. All the side-comments and offhand remarks in TCW, in addition to his charisma and leadership, suggested even washed-up he'd still be more than some hustler. (The "I take it he's not mine" is still the Hondo line that makes be laugh as hard as I cringe).

I absolutely think this option is underplayed. While I get it to a certain extent (Ahsoka having to take on another Padawan she had known AND face Vader would have been a little redundant) I do feel that it was a missed opportunity.

Eh, it would've diluted the dramatic punch of them facing off again I think. You know, the dramatic face off, of padawan and master, one dark, one light, years separate them, but their past binds them...oh, and there's Gary here too, Hi Gary!! You know, that NPC who was maybe in just a few episodes, but only had a cursory interaction with Ahsoka? Go get em Gary! :P

Just doesn't really have the same dramatic oomph to it.

Yeah, they could have done it, but Gary would have had to shown up and been dealt with by Ezra and Kanan before Ahsoka arrived, which wouldn't have worked with the chosen pacing of things unless Gary also replaced the Grand Inquisitor... which again, it would have taken a lot more work for Gary to be as strong in that role.

Plus they already did the Inquisitor storyline, so it would just be rehashing an old plot unnecessarily. Plus, if Kanan and Ezra dealt with him before Ahsoka arrives, that undercuts your above mentioned idea of having Ahsoka have to deal with another padawan from her past. :D
