Cool swag?

By Games'n'Geeks, in X-Wing

I'm hoping to buy a movement template set for X-Wing that is 2.0 compatible and I've noticed in my last game that some guys even had a holder for the templates, like a container where all the templates fit in. Unfortunately, I've not been able to ask them where they got it. Anyone recommend some cool movement templates? I'm located in the UK so this side of the pond would be preferred but if someone ships international, that would be fine too.

Also hoping to get a game mat now. I remember seeing what FFG offers but nothing really interested me. I think I'd like either a plain starfield or maybe a nebula, but what's important is that the size of the mat is correct.

Suggestions appreciated. If asking for 3rd-party stuff is against the rules, my apologies in advance.

Ffg does make a plain star field mat, just saying BUT Etsy is your friend. Its where I got my templates and template tray, but there are custom mats there as well and I saw plenty to choose from in the UK (much to my dismay as I'm in the US and there were a TON I wanted but couldn't justify the shipping overseas).

Just do a search for X-wing 2.0 and you'll find plenty.

These are both good. So is Buy the Same Token, Just Lasered, and Art of War (all UK.)

Mats: the mousemat type are far better than vinyl/PVC.

Kei Taniguchi makes custom mats - look him up on Facebook or under FullyModdedDiceTrays.

As mentioned by @Jagos , Cog O' Two are your hookup in the UK:

They usually have a stand at the big X-Wing events. I had them some templates I won with lines and pips for 2nd edition.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Been looking at Cog o Two but couldn't understand their design for the big trays. Art of War doesn't seem to make trays/holders, just the movement templates. Just Lasered makes a foam tray? Weird. Seems like Buy The Same Token makes pretty templates and sensible-styled trays, but wow! Expensive! Is this the norm? £35 for a tray, £52 to have it painted (movement templates and range rulers NOT included?), then another £16 for the movement templates or £26 to have it painted? £68 to have a ready-to-go setup?

Micro Art Studio has an interesting tray layout but I think is made for Feldherr cases...

Don't vinyl/PVC mats have issues with laying flat especially after spending time being rolled up? Mousemat-type for me! Is it only FullyModdedDiceTrays that does them?

Just Lasered has a rubbish website, but can make whatever you want: ask Melvin by email or messenger. Very reasonable prices. Micro Art is also cheaper, their wooden tray with lid works well and they had a very nice offer last Christmas.

The acrylic trays are expensive, yes, but you are allowed to paint them yourself.

There are some other places that make custom mousemat mats, like Patriot Games. However they are the same price as the official ones.

I have seen Cog o Two templates in person and can confirm they are quality.

Also seen Buy The Sam Token acrycllic tokens. Also great quality. Ended up buying their target locks. Haven't seen their templates in person yet though.

For mats try ultimate guard. They do a 3x3 and a 90x90. 3x3 is the standard size for FFG tournaments, but some tables come in 90x90, particularly in europe.

Highbridge Design has been around forever and does an excellent job. Also, the guy is super nice as I've met him in person. He is also branching out into templates, too.

I got my templates from Blackbox Seven in Germany. It took a while, but they look awesome.

If you listen to podcasts, some of them are starting to make their own templates, too. I hear Shuttle Tydirium is going to start doing their own.

Yup, MAS tray is designed to fit into a Feldherr Mini.
