Do I play Redline wrong?

By 235711, in X-Wing

I have played a few games with Redline and he seems absurdly strong to me. I have played him with Adv. Sensors and Proton Torpedoes for 61 Points.

Is it correct that he can do the following stuff or have I played him wrong?

a) Focus Action with Adv. Sensors > Lock > Bump into another ship

b) Reload Action with Adv. Sensors > Lock > Red K-Turn

You did it right.

He is really good.

This is wrong as the current wording of Adv Sensors does not allow for a second linked action.

EDIT: I stay corrected as Redline TL is not an action and therefore the sequence is valid.

Oh man! I misread his ability. Dang that's good

Redlines ability says aquire a lock, which is not an action. Therefor he gets to circumvent AS's no action clause.

Yes that is correct.

Redline's ability is NOT AN ACTION, its specifically "Acquire a lock" which as per the rules "gaining a token or simply acquiring a lock is not the same as performing the action"

Redline is very good.

Redline is one of the few thing I would say are a little bit too good for its points.

He is. I ran a Redline, Vader, Delta Squadron Pilot last night and Redline shined.

Can Redline aquire and keep two Target Locks on the same target ?

Yes. His ability says he can maintain two locks, and there's no limit to where they can be.

It's a lot less valuable to do it in 2e though, given that he can spend the lock to reroll with all his ordnance - it's better to be able to shoot 2 targets than shoot one target twice IME.

really all his 2lock ability does is either A) provide a "failsafe target" incase his intended target evades him, or B) cluster missiles, you get a mod for both attacks.

Vessery's best friend too.

Being able to lock different ships seems pretty strong to me, opens up numerous options and doesn't telegraph your intentions.
