I prefer my old X-Wings, but I don't regret wanting the articulated ones.
The wings on my new X-Wing are so loose it's pretty much useless. I discovered I'm also less fond of the new core set paint job than the old one. On the other hand, I don't think it had to turn out this way any more than the original Lambda Shuttle had to have stuck wings. In hindsight, it's probably not the best way to handle the in-game indication of your wing status for a variety of reasons, but I still like the idea of the model having the option.
I don't like the new X-Wings

I'll buy some resculpts and repaints, even if I won't subscribe to the app based space opera tragedy of 2.0.
A cool model is a cool model.
Too bad they didn't think to change the Y-wing to Gray Squadron livery.

Sfoil tokens!
Genius!!!
I’m content with my three 1.0 Xwings, and my Red 5 xwing to have luke fly. Best of both worlds in my opinion.
Wait. The Saw's Xwing are known to not be correct. But the 2.0 core??? Its a bit loose but it works great.
I'd trade you all. 1.0s for your 2.0 core Xs.
You guys seriously don’t want my core xwing the guns are bent and it’s crooked. Really looks like ****. Saw’s at least looks nice but works like ****.
My core X-Wing stays in place with the s-foils open, but with them closed they wobble about a fair bit. Whereas my Fang was a bit stiff to start with but now moves and keeps in lace quite well.
Think it would be more thematic if those inconsistencies were the other way round though...

Those are cool. I just purchased a few. Thanks!
I don't need any more X-Wings but I've got a couple of Flappy wings X's I'd trade for something. I'm looking for some combination of a loose cargo token, 2 Tie Strikers and a Tie Phantom at the moment.
I think the real tragedy is the new Y-wing. The forward guns and turret look so out of proportion, it looks extremely goofy. Thankfully I don't have to buy any that I don't want, and I'll keep using my old models.
I like the new models, personally. Sure, it's rather gimmicky and doesn't work flawlessly, but it's still fun! ![]()

Finally got to see these up close in Barnes and Noble today, I have to agree. The model itself is decent looking but that gun looks like it came from a different model from a different game and glued on top after the model was painted. It really is an eyesore. If I ever bought one I’d absolutely saw it off.
The movable wings tipped me over the edge to buy this game. Hoping for movable bwings or I will build it myself.
I love the new X-wings. Having the option for the s-foils to be closed is really nice. The problem I had was a misprinted paint on the expansion X-wing, but I contacted FFG/Asmodee and apparently they've got a replacement coming my way (I have some doubts as to whether it's actually a 2.0 version but still, very good of them).
For those with loose S-foils, there's a fairly easy fix to make the hinge "stickier" so they're not flopping all over the place, or closing shut when you set the ship down after a move. Take a dropper, put some Pledge Floor Care Finish in it, and then squeeze a drop or two in between the wings to the S-foil hinge, move them around to make sure it gets into the gaps, then let it cure for 24 hours. It should make them not-floppy. I've done it to two of my 2.0 X-wings and it worked like a dream. Attempt at your own risk, I over did it with the first X-wing, and it almost fused the S-foils shut, but I got them apart with a little effort and now they're great. I learned about this method from folks that collect action figures and wind up with loose joints on their figures.

Sounds good, I'll give that a trOHMYGODNO!!

Geezzz... dammed if they do, dammed if they don't. lol. I like all my Xwings. My saw's expansion ones loosened up after being in a hot car for a day or two. The new 2.0 ones are great too. I fly the new ones more personally.
Over at the Wings of Glory fan website/store. They have a kind-of glue they sell. This may be the solution you're looking for. It isn't permanent but sticky enough to keep things in place. They use it because they have altitude dials actually on the plane/ship peg. The dials need to rotate without spinning accidentally. Of course the store web site is down or I'd give you the link. Here is the link for the store, Aerodrome Accessories.
I Found the solution very simple: WD40 in the hinges.. I am sure the Benzine Cleaner or Turpentine would work as well
