I wish the FFG Squad Builder didn't suck so much. You can't view movement dials and building a squad on a phone is terrible.

Right now I use Yet Another Squad Builder (YASB) to build my squads and then I port it over to the phone app for quick viewing.

If FFG REALLY wants to do this right they need to make a browser based squad builder that functions like YASB and is able to save squad builds so people are able to view/edit them on their phones.

It is sad that they chose looks over functionality. Its like they never used any of the third part squad builders before they even started to see what the community was using.

I used this one for awhile, but it takes so long to load. I also prefer the dark background of YASB, but thats just because I live/work in a dungeon.... Not a real dungeon. A metaphorical dungeon.

This one was great, but now it's completely unusable (even for 1.0 content) as many of the cards no longer load properly (ie Title for Lambda and Title for Inquisitor, etc.).

I wouldn’t really know, I e been waiting more than 10 minutes for it to load.

That said, I have a hard time seeing how it could beat YASB, the interface there is just so simple and intuitive.

Well, all databases corrupted when voidstate tried to move them to a better provider. Literally days before 2.0 dropped. So I'm pretty sure he has thrown in the towel for good.

The 3 things I liked way better:

It sorted by PS. It's a big deal when making an epic list.

You could see all the pilots for a chassis at once, and more than 1 chassis (3-4). It was way faster to pick a list of pilots.

The printout was way friendlier on a B+W printer.

You could see what pilots and upgrades did before adding them to your list.

It was far and away the easiest to use, read, and share. Until it stopped working.

i kinda wish they'd dump the "show the whole pilot card" crap.

It just makes you have to scroll a LOT to see the loadout for 3 ships. Not to mention the points arent at the top of the screen at all times so im constantly scrolling back up to see what i got left.

Also cant minimize the pilot card except from the top, which..again...is off the top of the screen so more scrolling.

More than anything, I miss a cloning function.

The FFG app has a super unintuitive set of scroll zones. On my average sized laptop, I have to scroll up in the centre to see Soontir, select his elite slot, scroll down on the pop up, then scroll down the main screen and the sidebar on the left to add a TIE (which may involve scrolling up again), then scroll the whole site back up to see the point total of my squad. In YASB I could build my default 1.0 squad (3 ships, 9 upgrades or so) in less than a minute. Its 2.0 equivalent on FFG's site takes 3 times that long.

Still, it's free. And FFG had to pay something for it, so at least they're providing that functionality. If they set up an auto-update service for 3rd party builders I wouldn't have any complaints at all.

But, hey, they've now put out 3 (one pending) updates. As long as they keep working on it, it'll be good someday, probably.
