A season of Joy / Happy Friday

By Cubanboy, in Star Wars: Armada

Hello friends of the internets,

i am super happy to have made it with the family untouched by the storms of the east coast.

As such, I want to ask this week what about Armada make you happy?

Glad you and your family made it out okay.

Two things about Armada make me especially happy. The first is the community, specifically the people the I meet playing the game in person. Almost everyone I've met while playing has a genuine love and respect for the game and they are a pleasure to play against. I haven't come across any of the problem players that seem to be rampant in games such as X-Wing or 40k. That leads into the second thing about Armada that makes me happy. Win or lose, I almost always seem to have a great time playing the game. At my last tournament, I literally lost on the last roll of the dice (needed one accuracy to table the guy, but lost 7-4). My opponent and I both thought it was the best game we had ever played, full of highs and lows for each us, and not being over until the absolute last activation. That is the kind of game that I want to play, where even if I lose, I am happy and coming back for more.

I love how Armada taps right into my imagination if that makes any sense. You can create stories out of every game, and I agree with @Admiral Calkins about enjoying almost every game regardless of outcome.

What in Armada makes me happy? Not getting tabled when I place only one ship and no fighters on the board with Raddus. Well, not getting tabled before I Raddus in a ship or RLB my b-wings, any way.
