For my First 2.0 game tonight: Fenn, Guri, Palob

By trillclick, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I see that many have gotten some games under their belts. I'm going to be playing my first one tonight. Here's a squad I put together based on lurking through the topics here. Any suggestions on the build, or advice on how to fly them?

HWK-290 Light Freighter - Palob Godalhi - 62
•Palob Godalhi - Tethan Resister (38)
Elusive (3)
L3–37 (4)
Proton Bombs (5)
Moldy Crow (12)

Fang Fighter - Fenn Rau - 70
•Fenn Rau - Skull Leader (68)
Predator (2)

StarViper-class Attack Platform - Guri - 64
•Guri - Prince Xizor’s Bodyguard (62)
Predator (2)

Total: 196/200

On Monday night, my opponent was flying a SCUM list with Palob (almost identifcal minus the bombs).

Palob was a tank, especially due to having the Moldy Crow and his arc aimed to the side. The HWK was able to move around the board and continue to get shots with the focus.

L3-37 saved him as well, as he forced me to reroll all my dice, which had come up all as hits/crits!

I like the choice of pilots.

Haven't tried a bombing HWK-290.

But I personally would swap the proton bomb for Outmanuever on guri

Oh, I like this idea! Thanks

I have played a similar list twice but Guri tad Adv. Sensors, my Palob was alot squishier but still creamed just from the token stealing. The first game was against a Deci/Raxler build and Palob stole the defenders evade so he couldn't even juke my aces ?. I think there are two ways to play Palob 1st is as a main ship that is just as dangerous as your other ships and 2nd a supports ship that can still do damage. In both my games my main goal with Palob was just to get them in arc to steal a token and also Jam if possible to make a ship naked so fenn can preditor focus them and Guri can predator calculate focus them ( it hurts for them)

BTW you have to at least try Adv sensors its amazingly fun!

Below is my list:

Palob aces:

HWK-290 Light Freighter - Palob Godalhi - 50
•Palob Godalhi- Tethan Resister (38)

Moldy Crow(12)

Fang Fighter - Fenn Rau - 70
•Fenn Rau -Skull Leader (68)
Predator (2)

StarViper-class Attack Platform - Guri - 72
•Guri - Prince Xizor’s Bodyguard(62)
Predator (2)
Advanced Sensors (8)

Total 192/200

So what is the main idea behind the strategy of advanced sensors? I was thinking of flying Guri straight into opponents face, then barrel roll with the bank to get out of arc. How do you fly him with Adv Sens? I'd like to try it

I feel like Fearless is an auto include on Fenn. I've experienced, that having enemies in the bullseye is quite hard and Fearless gives you a free hit without needing to reroll.

Noice. Let us know how you go. I ran my first 2.0 game tonight...ran a modified Trench Runners list i call the "Trench Numbers"... against a Tie Swarm and Vader...

Got the win without losing a ship..mind you: enemy player made a few mistakes...but what i think rebels lose in "cool tricks" they seem to make up for in tankiness...

We both had fun and i approve of the new rules...feels "right" now...

BTL-A4 Y-wing - “Dutch” Vander - 51
•“Dutch” Vander - Gold Leader (42)
Ion Cannon Turret (6)
Seismic Charges (3)

T-65 X-wing - Wedge Antilles - 69
•Wedge Antilles - Red Two (52)
Outmaneuver (6)
Proton Torpedoes (9)
R4 Astromech (2)
Servomotor S-foils (Closed) (0)

A/SF-01 B-wing - Ten Numb - 75
•Ten Numb - Blue Five (50)
Elusive (3)
Collision Detector (5)
Heavy Laser Cannon (4)
Ion Cannon (5)
Adv. Proton Torpedoes (6)
Munitions Failsafe (2)

It depends on how you fly Fenn. If you zoom forward, straight at the enemy, then yes, fearless is the right choice (however, I'd argue that flying fenn straight into the face of all enemy ships is foolhardy....but that's debatable).

If you plan on using Fenn as a flanker and intend to stay out of enemy arcs as much as possible, then Fearless is useless. Predator is a nice cheap alternative...

I like the list. It’s nearly the same as my fang thief’s. I play Teroch instead of Guri. Until now my games went really well. Palob really shines when he gets ignored.

Imo predator is better than fearless. 1pt. cheaper and triggers more often (in the games I played). I dropped fearless after 4 games.

Pretty much do 1 forward or bank then decide were you want to go after the enermy have moved ?
