As the title states. I figure change Jam to new version, but keep it R1-2 for epic. Keep reinforce old school. Anyone run it as is and see?
Anyone try epic "as is" yet?

Contemplating it, but not attempted yet. I have minor concerns the Raider may end up under-priced, but if we do use epic again prior to FFG release this is actually our plan.
- Update jam to 2.0, keep it range 1-2.
- May or may not use reinforce as is in 2.0... though I'll admit I was considering the epic gets 2 reinforce tokens on the side it reinforces... (so it reduces two damage, but minimum of one damage per attack that hits) - just trying to find a way to keep things as simple as possible.
- Use 1.0 Pricing on the cards for epic ships and epic upgrades... (people complained they were too expensive anyway)
- Maybe ban a few upgrades if they prove too potent...
I was also thinking of keeping the points the same. Funny that.
Yeah, Reinforce can't be like the small ship one. I think that keeping it as is might be enough. Always block 1 damage. The damage output tends to be not as high, so it might work.
HLC should get a lot of use in Epic, I am thinking.
If only I had enough time to play more...

Why? Not saying you're wrong, I just haven't come to the same conclusion yet.

Because Reinforce changes a green die to a success. Large ships only get a green die at long range or through an obstacle. There would rarely be a time to use it.

*facepalm*
Wow, I would have discovered that one the first time I tried to use it.

No it doesn’t. Reinforce reduces the damage taken. It doesn’t need green dice at all.
or were you talking about 1.0 reinforce still? (Which I still think didn’t care about dice, just added an evade result)

Yeah, new reinforce would function almost identically to old reinforce on epic ships. The only exception is the minimum damage thing.
Technically you'd also need to reintroduce rules about how reinforce references the separate fore and aft sections of Epic ships, as the only rules for 2e reinforce currently describe it in terms of arcs.
Yup.. Rules Reference pg 15....
During the Neutralize Results step, if the attack would hit and there is more than one hit / crit result remaining, one evade result is added to cancel one result.
Should have trusted myself...

This isn't entirely true... It's using FRONT and BACK arcs... which would still apply to all but the C-ROC since the blue line would denote front and back.
Technically correct though!

What?!? I recall when they described it when they first announced it and it was all different. Ugh....well, at least it's easier to remember....
Sorry

Sorry
It is different... One damage always go through minimum so it's not invulnerable to 2 red attacks.
No apology necessary
