Genesys Combat Tracker

By OtterlyAdorable, in Genesys

So I made a Genesys combat tracker to use in a podcast I'm in (shameless plug for the interested: The Melting Plot podcast )

We needed a way to keep track of who had done what during combat so we could run back through and narrate everything. The problem was that even though I'm a fast typist, I was still referencing and typing in WAY too much information for the speed at which we were going through combat.

So, being the super-nerd that I am, I made a google spreadsheet to automate a ton of it for me.

Basic functionality of the sheet:

The GM can put in the PCs (which you can leave in there) and anyone can add NPCs and initiatives--we do successes as integers and advantage as decimals, so 2 success 4 advantage would be 2.4, 0 successes and 7 advantage would be 0.7, etc.

The spreadsheet automatically determines the initiative order and generates the PC/NPC slot order. On the "Combat Tracker" tab, it creates a filtered dropdown showing the available PCs or NPCs, depending on the slot, who have not yet acted this round . When you fill in the last character for the round, the next round of slots is automatically generated.

The main thing I have left to figure out is how to account for dead characters, but for now, I'm just putting "Dead" next to their action. I'll figure it out at some point. Probably.

You CANNOT edit THIS VERSION of the spreadsheet . You must make your own copy. This way, nobody can mess up my original copy and make it unusable for anyone else who would like to copy it. There is an instructions tab with an email to send any feedback to (or comment here, too). Thanks, and I hope you find it useful!

I haven't had a chance to play with this in great detail yet, but the basics look promising.

If you have any questions (or feedback!), please let me know! It functions well for what I need, but I'm always looking for ways to improve my pet projects. :)
