Regarding Luke's Instinctive Aim

By iamzoner, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So Luke now has the option to use Instinctive Aim in order to ignore the TL cost of launching a proton Torpedo.

Does this mean that he can then use his TL to modify the dice roll of the torpedo launch?

Ignore this. I just realized the TL doesn't need to be spent to launch the torpedo in the first place. So it just means that Luke can fire it without having the TL if he wants.

Right. In some ways, it doesn't seem as impressive on Luke as on, say, a generic Initiative 3 Inquisitor. Most missiles don't have the top-end damage potential of Torpedoes, however.

Luke's Initiative 5 is often going to be high enough to get a Lock the normal way, and combining a Lock with his Force Points is double-mods. However, Luke can also fire a Torpedo off a Barrel Roll or Boost, which is pretty sweet.
