Not a Fleet Build but seeking opinions...

** Admins, apologies if this is in the wrong section, wasn't sure where to put this.

I may be adding a GSD to my fleet in our Corellian Campaign, and can afford one of Assault Concussion Missiles, Assault Proton Torps or Rapid Reload.

I can see the benefit of all three, and leaning towards ACM, but do like APTs and the idea of an extra black dice out the side is also appealing.

What are peoples preferences?

Thanks.

Rapid Reload, It might get you 2 extra damage and on average gets you an extra 1, but that can be braced so 50% of the time it may just increase 5 damage to 6 which still gets braced down to 3. You are unlikely to get both side arcs with valid targets on the same turn so only really gives you benefit once a turn.

External Racks, A cheaper version of the above adding 2 dice for a potential 4 extra damage. It can be used out of any arc but only once a game. Good for Raiders that rarely stick around and it can even be added to one squadron flak attack. for a GSD you probably want more use out of the Ordnance slot.

APTs, One face up card even if the enemy have shields, this card also doesn't count for brace effects and can go off from any arc and can go off twice a turn if you can double arc a target. The early benefits of a face up card that contains can't effect (unless they have a DCO officer upgrade) make them great at hampering the effectiveness of large ships.

ACMs, I'm moving back to favouring these recently. Shreds shields quickly, again ACMs can go off from both shots if you can double arc someone. The +2 damage isn't bracable and if he redirects - well you are stripping those shields too and once those are gone you get +2 hull damage to kill ships quickly. APTs hamper ships before they die, ACMs just kill them quicker.

On a GSD take OE (or Screed/Vader) and go for ACMs or APTs. RR is inefficient and E-Rax are probably too short lived for a GSD that has the hull and defence tokens to stick around and fight. If your fleet contains lots of XI7s go for APTs as you drill through shields, otherwise go for ACMs if your fleets firepower is redirectable.

Also ACM love to stack with themselves and HIE so it is another reason to take them if yoy already have ACM and/or HIE in your fleet.
