If I park on an obstacle and spend the charge to ignore the obstacle effects, does this include the effect of me getting an extra green when defending, whilst being shot through the obstacle?

Would a defending ship I shoot through the obstacle still get the extra green?

The way I read it is thusly:

When YOU shoot, YOU ignore the effects of the obstacleon your attack, which include the bonus die for your opponent from obstruction.

When THEY shoot, THEY do not ignore the effects of the obstacle, which means that you get the extra die for obstruction.

Pretty much this.

Range is measured (and obstruction is checked) from the perspective of the attacker. If the attacker is ignoring an obstacle, it doesn't provide any impediments to an outgoing attack (it also doesn't trigger Trick Shot or other similar effects, too, which is a bit of a bummer, but a small price to pay for not exploding on an asteroid). When DEFENDING, though, it's the attacker who determines whether or not an attack is obstructed; so, unless THEY also get to ignore obstacles, you get the benefit of a bit more cover.

Yes, basically its Dash's ability on a charge for anybody with a system.

Only works twice, but otherwise same thing.

Brilliant, that's what I thought. Cheers :)

It's better; Dash's ability doesn't let him shoot on asteroids.

Sorry but it can not. You do not ignore the obstacle when attacking.

default card

You ignore it for the rest of the round, including while attacking.

Dash does not ignore while attacking.

CD does. Explicitly says "round" not "phase"

Although equally note that it only applies to that obstacle that you flew through - which somewhat limits its usability in the subsequent combat phase unless you either have a rear arc, a turret or koiogran turned across the rock.

I've literally used it exactly once and not got a front arc shot with it using either a Phantom or Guri.

Right its just that obstacle.

More often than not its going to be used to let you zip through a rock intentionally and not suffer anything than it is gonna let you get a shot while on it.

Besides if you did shoot in a way where you ignored the rock but it still obstructs the opponent's attack, youre spending both charges on the same rock or youre getting hit next turn.

Not necessarily; it's possible to be obstructed by the rock without any of it covering the are between your nubs. A lot harder these days when you can't fine tune your rolls, though.
