New Releases - Place your bets

By Church14, in Runewars Miniatures Game

Alright. So Jukey and I have been getting antsy about LordV as we both play Waiqar as our second factions.

So here’s the wager: Guess one of the unrevealed cards (uniques embeddeds or Artifact) coming with LordV or BaronZ. Card text is the priority, but names and costs can certainly be thrown in.

Your prize for getting it right or closest will be to be quoted by someone in this thread as they say something like “Nailed it” in response to your good guess.

The cards in question:

BaronZ’s second unique

BaronZ’s infantry embedded

BaronZ’s cavalry embedded

LordV’s first unique

LordV’s second unique

LordV’s artifact

I’m going with LordV’s uniques:

-The first will be to reroll a number of dice up to the number of wounds and/or missing trays in the defender

-The second will be an exhaust to transform without moving.

Pretty sure Zachareth's infantry and cavalry upgrades will both read 'Before your activation, you may receive either "Saviour of Carthridge" or "Betrayer of Carthridge." Limit once per game.' Identical to his built in ability, no reason it wouldn't work on a unit. I figure 12, 15 points? Maybe more if they throw in a die upgrade.

I'm hoping his other unique is melee focused to complement Nerekhall Training. Something like when you perform a blue maneuver you may increase its speed by 1 would be pretty huge, and make him a much more credible charging threat.

Zachareth also has a mysterious sixth Daqan-only card shown in the preview spread, so third unique? Second artifact??

Vorun'thul I'm figure HAS to get some way to regenerate wounds. In fact Shard of the Shadow Rune would have been perfect for him, thematically. Having faced him a few times now though, if he gets rerolls or regeneration he's gonna be pretty insane.

Baron Z's second unique will have something to do with his rune golem steed and movement. Maybe allowing it to perform some sort of movement given a number of red runes? or the RG stun?

LordV's artifact. They've been on an 'evasive' tear recently with Waiqar (like having the wraiths harder to hit). My guess is some sort of defensive artifact that forces the opponent to reroll after attack.

New release is out, and its really good. Ardus is totally hoing to snake the new artifact. 5 pts, give precise equal to blue runes and lethal equal to red runes.

I see a lot of good combos.

Lord v as an infantry upgrade swaps a die for white, and can make opponents shift. In reanimates, they could swing at int 3, then force their opponent out of combat.

Lord v as siege, gives brutal and white die. With the artifact bearer, you could run a horde of reanimates a dusk blade and drop the surge cost to 1. Making it really easy for them to cleave through anything.

Lord V gets 3 unique upgrades. Too bad his skill is blue, he isnt as good at transfixing as his unit upgrade is.

Both releases come with nifty terrain, and good missions.

The baron in a 6 tray crossbow can be really good. Take barron, fire rune, close combat targeting, and the reform after enemy wiped horn.

The Barron would let you shoot 2reds and a white, and then fire rune with a red and white. Even if you get hit, you keep shooting, and when you kill them, you reform to line up the next target. Just keep something near to dump all those stuns on.

You can only use it on unengaged units, so you can't force your opponents out of combat.
