Well, you do actually have to assign one to Boba. Assigning tokens is not optional and you have to assign as many as you can.

But that aside... I just can’t shake the thought that something key is not “clicking” for him or there is an important rules misunderstanding. Because he’s consciously taking the objectively worse choice.

Yeah, I'm getting the same feeling. He doesn't like that Boba's card " because it activates him" (Is that our rules misunderstanding right there? He doesn't understand order tokens and thinks he has to activate Boba right then?) but instead picks a card that lets him "activate" (hopefully he means order) NO UNITS AT ALL? That doesn't make any sense.

Are you really forced with orders? I thought it was a choice. I read over the rules reference and couldn’t find anything that suggested it was a forced decision.

Either way way it doesn’t hurt to give him an order vs randomly drawing him..

Yeah, it’s on page 21:

Quote

A player must issue orders to as many units indicated on a
command card as possible.

But completely agreed. There’s no harm (in fact it’s pure benefit) in assigning one to Boba.

Yeah, I think there is a rule misunderstanding too because even with the rationale outlined, I don't get it.

Even on 2-pip stealing initiative late game is irrelevant when comparing it to another 2-pip. That doesn't make Veers' card better overall, it makes it completely equal to Boba's card.

Love this list. I had the bid and out activated my opponent. Played Sabotage Evaps. He ended up beating me by 1 and hid Han the entire time. Still learning with Boba, but those Scouts are freaking awesome. Don't need to worry about extra units when you're throwing 5-6 dice. Also helps when you can rapid reinforce the snow troopers and cause some panic. Probably sticking with this list.
