4-LOM

By RebelProfundity, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm having fun building with Scum right now and have been trying to get medium bases on the table to practice. I think 4-LOM is an interesting choice with some good synergies.

This list has been a lot of fun so far, but I want to know how you would run 4-LOM if you had too.

(80) Boba Fett
(3) Marauder
(4) Han Solo
(3) Fearless
Points 90

(49) 4-LOM
(3) 0-0-0
Points 52

(42) Kavil
(4) Dorsal Turret
(6) R2 Astromech
(5) Proton Bombs
Points 57

Total points: 199

4-lom's whole goal is to get range 1, so I think things that benefit from R1 work best. Fearlessness is great. And I like 0-0-0, since getting range 1 doesn't always mean 4-lom's doing a red maneuver.

I would like to know how this fairs on the table. I think the G-1A is pretty cheap for the amount of hull and shield you get on a 3 dice primary. I just wonder how often you get into range 1 with 4-lom and still get shots.

AdSen along with 0-0-0 is really good on 4. He can lock, red, calculate, then force stress or another calculate, then pass the stress.

You could get that by ditching the bombs or the regen astro (which I really don't like here) and fearless. The other 2 would still be really very effective.

I played against somebody running 4-LOM and I was pretty impressed, passing stress to friendly ships to keep his advanced sensors fun times rolling was pretty effective. He did go down hard to sup reflexes Luke, but then he does cost half as much so it's to be expected. I think if flown right he's a decent investment. I like the idea of using things like tac scrambler to further benefit you when you shove him down their throat

I am 1-1 with it. The loss was me thinking Boba could handle more incoming fire without reinforcing than he could. It feels kinda difficult but fun, because it's two medium ships that both want to be at range one. They seem to work better split up, so there isn't as much crowding trying to get them in range 1 of something. It kinda forces the opponent to deal with one or the other, especially swarms. The win was against a Non-supernatural Vader + mini-swarm. Used the red stop on 4-LOM to pretty good effect in that game, lots of stress dealt out with blocking added in.

I like Kavil as the third because he is good at getting some dice in to support whichever one has the better target and approach. Kavil is also beefy enough to survive if they target him instead and usually uses both R2 charges in a game. He feels pricey for his dice though and I definitely notice the Range 2 restrictions on the turrets. That's why he often gets to use those R2 charges.

I have a friend who played 4LOM with Adv.Sensors and 000, and it is really annoying. To my knowledge, he is the only ability in the game that forcibly stresses you with no recourse (Ventress you can dump a green token). Adv. sensors I think is an auto include. Outside of these two upgrades, I don't know if he needs anything, but elusive is a prettt good fit, since you'll be doing reds almost every turn.

Also, don't forget the title! That barrell roll is WHITE! I believe it is the only medium/big base BR in the game that is white (without EH) so it is a steal.

4LOM has become one of my top favorite SCUM pilots in v2.0

I put on the IG crew card with Advanced Sensors to get 3 calculate tokens per red maneuver. Those tokens come in handy when 4LOM is in the mist of battle.

I was looking at something very similar to this.

4-LOM (49)
Advanced Sensors (8)
0-0-0 (3)

Boba Fett (80)
Predator (2)
Perceptive Copilot (10)
Marauder (3)
Han Solo (Scum) (4)

Unkar Plutt (30)
Cloaking Device (5)
Stealth Device (*)

Total: 200

I am also liking the idea of not bothering with 0-0-0 and taking IG-88D (Boba would drop to Marksmanship instead of Predator) so that there's Stress, Tractor and Jam being thrown around while still keeping a healthy number of Calculate tokens.

I don't like Bullseye EPTs on Boba - he can use his rear arc too much.

Totally agree. Fearless is the way to go, IMO. Boba wants range 1, so boost as his action, Han gunner gives him the focus. You could use the Han focus for defense since Fearless makes it very likely you get 4 hits anyway. And if you did use the perceptive copilot version, than you are really tanky.

I also think a light 4-lom is the way to go. 0-0-0 and that's it. He can take some hits now, but he's a ship that wants range one and is not tanky. So, if he dies horribly, than you haven't dumped a lot into him.

Only place to squeeze then that I can see is the stealth device off Unkar. 4 Defence is plenty I guess lol

Does Fearless proc for both front and rear arcs like 1.0? the card only shows a front facing arc.

nothing to see here

Unfortunately, it only procs in the front arc. Unless they FAQ it later, the card shows what it shows.

Sensor, titel, elusiveness works great for me.

This is how I've built my 4-LOM list,

Guri (62) - Outmaneuver (6), Advanced Sensors (8)

Kavil (42) - Expert Handling (2), ICT (6), R4 Astro (2), Proton bombs (5), Han Solo (4)

4-LOM (49) - Advanced Sensors (8), 0-0-0 (3), Mist Hunter (2)

Total - 199

So much flexibility for both of my ships with advanced sensors to barrel roll/1 hard. Can pull off some crazy shenanigans with 4-LOM maneuvering =/stopping/kturning then passing out 2 stress or taking 3 calculates. And everyone seems to ignore Kavil until they end up ioned and facing the board edge.
