Wave specific additions need to change

By Andreu, in X-Wing

We already seen in the conversion kits the "Wave 1 additions" which seems to be the way FFG will deliver the new cards for the people who went the conversion route every wave from now on.

I believe most here will agree that putting 2 different named pilots on each side of the same ship token is kinda distasteful and the only "reasonable" excuse is the lack of space in the cardboard (Although I personally believe adding a bit more cardboard to avoid this will compansate "the savings" in client satisfaction)... but WHY on earth waste cardboard space by putting the same pilot on both sides of the same ship token? Cause this is how "wave additions" look now. Why not simply fill it with the generics of that ship following the same principle as always, more generics never hurt and there is nothing to gain from the current version.

Can we make the X-Wing design team aware of this somehow? Honestly, I believe they agree on this and the first wave additions are just a dumb oversight.

If you want to make them aware, contact them directly through the website main paige. Or even via twitter, as those probably will get more direct responses than a passive-aggressively kvetching on the forums.

Yeah well :S maybe I let my resignation take the best of me with the 2 different named pilots on the same token complain. Sorry if that came out wrongly.
In the other hand the wasting carboard part is pure dibelief and I thought it was important. Thanks though, I'll look right away how to conctac through the website main paige.

i have a feeling this was a one time thing because of an oversight and the additions werent originally planned or something. They probably already sent the conversions to the printers before realizing "whoops we missed a few"

Just be glad they didnt pull a BP Oil Company on us, "Oh we didnt mean to do that. We're sorry!" and make you buy the standalone ships anyway.

1.0 had cardboard with named pilots on both sides to? But I am not sure what the problem is in the op?

You mean like putting Afterburners in the Fang Fighter pack, announcing:

All of the ship and upgrade cards included in the Fang Fighter Expansion Pack can also be found in the Scum and Villainy Conversion Kit.

and then ... oh well...

To play Devil's Advocate there, Afterburners already comes in the 2nd Edition Core set.

These have the same pilot name on both sides.

There is ZERO reason not to do what the OP suggests. The conversion kits do not contain enough generic pilots for the dials on a number of ships. This is an easy and cheap change that can't hurt anyone and will help some. Please make it happen.

Sounds like y'all getting jipped. I threw in the towel when the faction specific conversion kits didn't actually convert the upgrades, let alone the generic/token/dial problems.

I totally agree with that, but this is a different matter that can actually be easily improved from now on.

Wich ones? I know the Aggressors do, but that's cool so you can run every figuration. If there are others, that's a bit stinky.

All of the Wave One additional ship tokens.

Ok, have not bought any Kits yet, so have not heard of those.

You clearly don't understand kvetching if you think the point is to get problems addressed. (As such, I wouldn't necessarily classify the OP's complaint as kvetching.)

What do you mean? The conversion kits have plenty of upgrades.

Devils Advocate: if you put a generic pilot on the backside of these additional tokens, wouldn't somebody then insist they should have included the cards for those generics too (adding even more content/cost)? Or is that what you're getting at already?

Also, I'm not sure that listing generics ok the backside of these tokens would actually have fixed any of the kit shortages/disparities. Tie Interceptors and Starvipers seem to be the main ships shorted on generics and they have no tokens in these Wave 1 bags.

Quick reply, I had edited in less than 60 seconds after hitting post. :P

Could probably do any list with Vader + Interceptors, or two Silencers (from spoil looks like they can use em)
