Missiles on YT-1300

By nj1978, in X-Wing

Question on a YT-1300 carrying missiles:

During today's game, my opponent had missiles on Han. Even though his turret arc was facing sideways, he stated he is still able to shoot his missile from his front arc.

Is this correct?? That means that Han has a potential 270 firing arc if in range.

Yep, the missiles are front arc, they are there own arc.

That should be right, I think you are only allowed to fire torps and missiles out the front.

Yeah, the front is the only arc those missiles can fire out of. The upgrade card will tell you which arc the weapon can be used out of. It has nothing to do with the turret primary.

This.

So the 360 attack has been reduced to a 270 attack. And here Arc Dodgers thought they will be able to rule the playmat mwahahaha

At least it is action dependent for the ordnance or to rotate the arc so there is more maneuvering that the other player can do as opposed to 1.0 where they just had to deal with the 360 arc and needed upgrades pretty much to try and counter it.

This. Also unless your using,

(what are they called, barrage rockets? The 5 charges missile) they’ll pretty much be a 1-2 time 270 arc.

270 is a lot less coverage against an arc dodger than 360. In fact, a 270 arc is effectively identical to a 180 (shadowcaster style) given the tendency of fat ships to kite. And it's very easy for a double reposition arc dodger to stay in that gaping blind spot.

Also... Han alone is 92 points. If I am not mistaken, it's like Soontir Fel + Turr Phenir.

Falcon with missiles is cool. Set your turrets to the sides then you have 3 fireing arcs to use at the start. (Less guessing)

Scum Han isn't.

But yeah, the missiles are all action dependent, and event Barrage Rockets are difficult in the Scum build which favours cheapness using IGD.

I quite like Cluster Missiles on Han, they're the right ones to use. They always wound up on the cutting room floor during squadbuilding just because if you're flying him right you shouldn't ever need them, but they're a long way from awful to just add that arc for the couple of times per game you might need it.
