Cheap ps1 blocker that comes with a linked boost built in seems pretty efficient.
Played against Jake the other day and he was pretty cool.

Yes, this is correct. Both are primary weapon arcs

In 1.0 my wife used to play PS1 A-WING as a blocker, one heavy hitter and one outflanking ace. Now in 2.0 this works even better with either 2 A-WING blockers or 2 heavy hitters.

Technically larger ships should have more opportunities for improved action economy just because they can have real crews. Compared to single (or duo) crew fighter craft.
Agree with the general points. Though I'm not sure what a second gunner slot would do, as my current favored YT-1300 list has abandoned wasting points on a Gunner at all. They all seem overcosted and far too situational to get returns on their point-costs very often. FFG has always had a real tendency to overcorrect with their "fixes" in X-Wing (e.g. see: Autothrusters, TIE/x7, Sabine (Crew), Guidance Chips/Harpoons, etc.). In 2.0, it looks like FFG sort of over-corrected in their attempt to make turrets a little less powerful, as now it seems like most of turrets are just unplayably inefficient.
I would have liked to have seen a ship like the YT-1300 have two separate mobile arc indicators (differentiated with an A and B or whatever) and then two Turret-Gunner slots. Turret Gunners could have then applied to a single mobile arc (put the matching ID letter on the gunner) and allowed the turret to attack each round, at a significantly hefty price tag of course. If a YT-1300 wants to stack both of its turrets to the left, great, but then it becomes even easier for the enemy player to outflank or arc-dodge. But I don't think there would have been anything game-breaking about allowing a Decimator or a YT-1300 or a YT-2400 (anything with a dorsal and ventral gun) from attacking out of each gun each round, assuming the price was set failry for that sort of offensive output. As it stands now, the offensive output out of something like a large-based <> turret ship is just way to anemic to be worthwhile, in my opinion. Just grab two X-Wings instead and hit literally twice as hard while offering "more" HP-Bulk.
As someone who loves A-wings I can attest that the built in linked boost seems like a subtle change but is really a big improvement in 2nd edition
The action sharing in rebels is great.
Played a couple matches with Luke and Norra from the Quick Start and had fun. So I decided to try a more stripped down version of both.
Norra Y Ion Turret, Vet Turret Gunner
Luke R5 Instinctive
Arvel Indimidation Cluster Missles
Blount
Yes, it's all about the up close with this list. Since I haven't played much and never was a great pilot, I want to get in and roll some dice.
If I were going to move things around, I might be talked out of the Cluster Missles, or the Vet Turret Gunner, a two die attack is not exactly worth 8 points is it? Perhaps a way to have the ion attack stick better?
Is Norra y-wing in the conversion kit? Or only the expansion?
Thane (X-Wing), Norra, and one other Y-Wing I believe, are all in the conversion kit in a smaller piece of cardboard separately bagged from the rest. It seems like it got added to production late so that people wouldnt have to buy wave one on top of the kits.
So, maybe I'm weird, but the generic I'm getting the most use out of by a wide margin isn't things like X's, B's or whatever, is a generic PS2 Y-Wing with Proton Torpedoes and an R4. It's a legit threat they have to deal with, but comes with decent hp that aren't green dice dependent, frequently I'll keep the lock from the first torp to set up a focused or K-Turn torp next turn, they're a way better blocker than they look just because of all the blue from the R4 and the red barrel roll that gets opened up by the R4 and they aren't done being a threat once torps are gone because they can reload (red of course, but again R4s for a lot of blue options). Frequently, after the initial engagement, I'll just do a pair of hard 2's with a reload on the first one. It does a lot that a K-turn can do, and you're only losing an unmodded attack 2 shot to threaten a 4 dice shot later which forces some interesting choices especially when they're supporting higher end pilots.
The more I play Y-Wings and the more I look at them, they might be the strongest generic because the relatively cheap R4 turns on their dial and red actions, they cancarry a number of solid secondaries and both the Y-Wing and the secondaries are well costed. This may be heresy, but I've also found they're better at blocking than A-Wings. Significantly less frail, a much better threat and they still have the reposition that I need in a blocker, barrel roll. Like a generic Y is only 2pts more and a Y with the R4 is only 4 pts more with double the hp, the same attack, most of the blocking utility and the option to dramatically upgrade hitting power if needed.
The more my opinion of Y-Wings goes up, the more my opinion of almost the entire stable of rebel ships goes down because it's just a really solid and flexible platform that can do multiple roles at once and that's favorably costed.
Y-Wings are the only letter-wing ship that I've been suitably impressed by as a platform.
