Viper Legion dial is revealed!

So I'd say the dial is pretty standard/bad aside from that red reform modifier. Changing facing while firing is pretty excellent.

More bane support is pretty cool to see, though that's... pretty strong. Uthuk will have access to a pretty good control game by the end of the year.

According to the spread, there is still an uthuk only training to be revealed.

All the goodness that archers usually bring, a few uthuk specific tricks but otherwise still archers.

Jokes on you suckers. I can now perform a speed 8 charge with archers.

EDIT: Just to clarify. I’m laughing at how stupidly, pointlessly fast I can these archers. I’m not serious that I think this is a thing

Nothing to bad about the dial, seems balanced. The reform and dialed in surge could both be nasty, but nothing crazy.

Slightly concerned about ritual venom, but need to see it in action before passing judgement.

It is weird that the average uthuk only upgrade card is 3-4 pts and every other faction they are 3-6 generally.

It's gonna be less funny than aggressive on xbows. Mainly becasue Xbows can shoot and do a speed 1 charge and attack :)

Personally, I’m enjoying the idea of Psychosis siren and simultaneous orders on these.

For me the quiet hit out of this dial is the init4 rally and reform, making the entirety of the Uthuk army outside of spined threshers (and we don’t know thuuktar or obscene dials yet) that can do some combination of rally and reform between init2 and init4. Uthuk flank resistance is pretty strong across the board I’d say.

I'm getting excited for a lock-down army with Ritual Venom on Berserkers and Corruption Rune on Viper Legion. Add in some Spined Threshers for "morale support" and I think you can get a pretty terrifying list pretty fast. Or, if not terrifying then at least frustrating.

Yeah... this is some serious thematic disconnect :(

"So let's get some foot archers in there that can move twice the speed of other players mounted cavalry. That should fit just fine!"

Better than speed 8. Speed 4, then fight, and if you wipe them out, another speed 4 charge amd fight.

Yep. Although there was little doubt they would have that since all infantry to date have white skill modifiers.

The 2 shift is legit. It's also early enough that if your opponent's cavalry misses their short-range charge the turn before (or gets blocked and wipes something out), and needs their long-range charge to hit, you can back off and skill before they can pull it off. Considering that skill can be a Fire Rune, a Corruption Rune, or a Psychosis Siren, seems like there's some utility in that 6-shift.

Also, they have the same 8-init 1 shift that Deepwood Archers do, and I get a lot of mileage out of the pseudo-attack on 8 after movement with Fire Rune Deepwoods.

Couple that with some really outrageous ability for this ranged unit to cover ground and reform, and they feel like a unit that is very unlikely to be out of position in the late game.

So no, I would definitely not call this a lame dial.

Yeah. We equip anything to everything. If @Jukey was more up to speed on our battle reports, you’d see I’ve been getting my *** handed to me as I keep trying new combos.
