Extended vs 2nd?

By MightyTallest, in X-Wing

In the App it has the content from the Conversion Kits under the "Extended" list.

With the combination of this, and not enough tokens being provided to make a clean break to 2.0, it feels a bit like I'm playing x wing 1.5. Are these actually being supported properly as part of 2.0?

"Extended" just means it includes the conversion boxes.

They are kept separate because there are going to be events for 2.0 released ships only as well as ones that include the conversion ships. No other difference.

Lack of tokens is moot, not like you dont have a ton of them anyway. I have more charge tokens than i could possibly use with 1 conv box anyway (and force) and thats the only two new tokens i actually needed.
Sure i bet if i really tried i could break my charge token limit, but i'd be loading up useless/redundant upgrades.

Yeah, I've got loads of tokens, but would have been nice to have actually be able to leave the old ones behind completely. Particularly the target locks, given they've changed appearance completely.

Not the end of the world.

Was just a bit concerned they'd be like "Okay now we're not using the Extended cards any more" at some point, which would be a shame.

should have 6 targetlocks, least i have that many with core + 1 conv box.

Is it even possible to have more than 6 ships with locks? That you'd even bother doing anyway, i know z-spam can but LOL whos gonan do that....

Haha, yes, you are correct. Would be quite a dedicated effort to lock that many people!

To be fair I'm more of a casual player, so for me it's a case that the six target locks would be split between me and my partner :) Again, that's probably okay as most lists we use are 3v3 anyway.

Still, can always have one use the old ones and the other use the new ones to keep it readable!

Just make sure I'll keep the old ones to hand for the time being. Sure they'll rope me in with some new fancy Empire things to get more tokens before long.

Dislike the new lock tokens. In out games people keep getting them confused with the new stress tokens and removing them after a blue move.

Might improve once people get more used to them, but super annoying right now.

yeah pretty much everyone in my area is still using their old locks.

I'm not missing much from the sounds of things then!

In general been pretty happy with the transition - not got a massive collection, so the conversion kit had me covered aside from a Raider and a Firespray for Empire.

There's an upgrade that allows a ship to have 2 active target locks. The core set doesn't give that ability. You need the Xwing, TIE Advanced or Lando's Falcon expansions to get a target lock set with two lock tokens.

(PS you'd need THREE conversion kits to Z-Spam to that degree, because they only have pilot cards and tokens for 3 cheap pilots, ugh)

I actually prefer the old target lock tokens. They looked better than the new ones. The new shield tokens are nice so I might decrease the number of 1.0 shield tokens I have.

Kinda wish they went lighter on charge tokens and put shields in the conversions. Fully agreed that 1 conversion yields an abundance of charge and force. I bought all 3 with the core, my charge tokens are out of control with no where near enough shields. Kinda silly really.

Two cores and one of each conversion and I have eight shields and thirty-two charge tokens. Someone certainly fouled that math up.

yeah and come 2-4 new releases and you'll be swimming in shields. Again.

Actually that's not entire correct. You could do it with 2 if you made a pair of Bandits into Talas and still run 8.

Don’t bet on it, not buying this edition like last. Didn’t buy a thing in wave 1, don’t want anything in wave 2. It’s up to wave three to get me to buy something

Yes, the biggest difference between 1.0 and 2.0 is the amount of tokens you get.

How about R3 Astros? 3 ships with r3 maxes you out. 4 cant be run.

Only 1 of each TL so you'd need a second core or 2 numbers per ship.

R3 is not a card that came out well down the road that they couldn't have planned for. It's day 1.

Aha they’ve updated the squad builder- my original question has been sort of sorted out by that now!
