2 epic ships overlapping

By crusaders, in X-Wing Epic Play

What happens when 2 epic ship bumped against each other in the next round ?

Do they get every time a faceup damage as long as they stay bumped?

Yep. It's a super bad gig, unless your intention is to slow-grind both ships to death.

I have used a Gozanti to wreck a CR90 and again vs a Raider. Then it's well worth doing. Had Bo'Shek on the Gozanti just for this! Very silly. :)

It's one of the reasons I like WED-15 - so I can fix enough damage for my ship to survive and still be useful afterwards.

Yeah, it's one of those strategies that makes me grit my teeth as "unfair!!" but it is of course, completely legit.

It only happens if you let them.

Use fighters to speed up your damage race so that a 50pt gozanti doesn't wipe a 130pt raider. If they're repairing then they're not doing other actions to screw over your fighters. And possibly missing their reinforce.

This. It's a good threat to divert attention rather than something to rely on.

The second time I did the deliberate ramming, I succeeded so well that the front of the Raider was crippled quite quickly - but I'd made it so that I couldn't clear the wreck with my Gozanti. So I was taking 2 crits per turn while my opponent wasn't getting any further damage.

The damage race became my attempts to destroy the raider's aft with my fighters before the Gozanti died.

A house-rules idea I’ve been kicking around about cripples sections being used as battering rams.

If the fore section is crippled, any damage applied to it (fore section) is applied to the aft section. Or maybe a reduced dmg applied.

Thougts?

Try it out and see how it works?
