I'm mostly an imperial player at heart. I'm parting ways with my old friend Firespray tommorow. There is no going back, but i really loved this ship. I understand why it had to move to scum but it makes me feel nostalgic and kind of sad anyway. This ship was really versatile, fun and iconic. 2.0 listbuilding is a lot different for me with Slave, TIE/SF and Tie Silencer gone. Goodbye imperial Boba, we had a great run.
I never realised until now how much i will miss Firespray in my fleet.
Your post literally makes no sense.
Just play the Firespray as Scum.

I don't play scum, i never bought a single scum only ship. Starting to collect now would be pricey as i'm already planning to do 4 factions.

Your Firespray and two Fang fighters, or a second Firespray is not that expensive, but you do you.
Edited by BlodVargarnahonestly, I don't mind that they're gone
Means we have room for Punishers, Bombers, and Phantoms that are really worth a ****
I think it's a strange decision to remove Firesprays from the Imperials while leaving Z-95s and Y-Wings on both Rebels and Scum. I would rather keep all of the cross-faction ships as they were, but as long as we're splitting things up, I'd give serious thought to making Z-95s exclusive to Scum and Y-Wings exclusive to Rebels.

What about rebel scum?

Fifteen seconds later, Darth Vader offers all of those bounty hunters a job.

Thematically I can kind of see why (Y-Wing was Rebels/Republic only in the movies), but what that change would do to both Rebels (the removal of a swarmable ship) and Scum (removal of a good, low priced bomber and the removal of the only single target double tap platform available for Scum) makes me disagree.

Remove Z-95s from the Rebels?! Who did Rebel High Command send out to capture those experimental TIEs the Empire was developing, then? It wasn't Gold Squadron, I assure you!

he just had to prune potential applicants to the cream-of-the-crop this time around

Why are you needlessly snarky and confrontational so often. It’s very tiring.
XWM was a two faction game when the Firespray came out. If there had been scum, it would never of had imp pilots in the first place.

There are people who chose to play one faction for whatever reasons (that would take too long). I completely understand the OP. I have sold my beloved Firesprey recently too. Why I did it? Because I decided I don't want to play Scum nor Empire anymore. I chose Resistence above all.
I still find it odd. Boba Fett was working for the Empire in almost all of his movie scenes. If the factions were super strict, I would understand.
As it is, not only are there plenty of remaining ships crossing the faction barrier, but they're still adding thematic crossover ships, like the Mining Guild TIE.
IMHO I did wish there was more Imperial/Scum cross faction ships. To me getting rid of the 1 Imperial/Scum ship and keeping on Rebel/Empire cross faction ship felt a little strange. Hopefully Boba will fly once more under the Empire's banner and maybe bring some of his "coworkers" along with him.

Boba's primary client in Empire Strikes back was Jabba (Jabba's bounty on Han). The job from Vader was taken to ease the completion of that contract and add a bit of side money while mitigating possible Imperial interference in his contract with Jabba (both wanted Han dealt with though Skywalker was Vader's primary target).

Client-smient. Bounty Hunters ain't going to say no to money. You think Boba gave Vader the Millennium Falcon to the Empire for free? He just mentioned to Lord Vader that he can take Han Solo to Jabba and collect that bounty in addition to what Lord Vader has given him. Boba's only concerned with Han dying was voiding the bounty in which Lord Vader said the Empire will compensate him.
But yeah I still want Imperial Bounty Hunters. Some more Imperial Scum cross faction will be nice.

Vader will do things outside imperal modus operandi, mainly because he is outside the traditional command structure.
While Vader can and will give orders, it is an edict from the Emperor, and well known, that you do these orders “or else”.
Piett’s line is one of derision stating his displeasure of Vader’s choice to use mercenaries, when he feels the Empire is more than capable of finding the Millenium Falcon.
Vader cares little for the empire itself, just getting the job done as quickly and by whatever means necessary.
The ONLY reason we got the firespray is that it is such an iconic ship and the game (x-wing 1.0) was not a guaranteed success when relesed

I’ve been purely imperial and rebel, but bought a 2.0 firespray, a 2.0 fang, and a 1.0 fang just so I can fly those ships as they look cool and sound like a blast to play. I probably won’t play any other scum as I will continue with imperial and rebel and most certainly resistance. But nice to have these ships to play something different.

So, while the last statement is true, there is no reason that a mechanic could not be implemented in the game allowing the Imperial faction access to (at least the 5) bounty hunters.
There are times when the rigid application of gameplay >>>>> fluff just screws this game out of anything that could be interesting. The Empire can easily be justified as having access to Boba Fett, even if it was at a mild points premium. If 2.0 is as balanced as everyone claims, it shouldn't make a **** bit of difference that the Boba Firespray crosses the faction line.
At the very least, FFG could implement a style of card that is "legally casual," that allows a little listbuilding fluff when you are not at a tournament. Better than DIY, because the Fett can show up as an Imp at the FLGS, but off-limits for tournament play.
But the fact that stuff like this is just written off as gameplay-required sucks the life out of the idea that this game is truly about Star Wars.

But then there is no reason to limit them to Empire as they are for hire to anybody with money. Thus the potential problems of balancing goes up.
I feel it OP. Not personally but I get it.

*sigh*
There could be at least 10 ways to do this:
1. Require Vader in the list.
2. Only allow the BHs we see on the bridge of the Executor.
3. Require them to be "hired" costing list points.
4. Require the to be hired using a mod/title slot.
5. Not allow more than 1 per list.
6. Create them as a new pilot card that is Imperial only that gets used when they cross-over.
7. Make that cross-over card different/weaker than the S&V faction card.
8. Make them "casual only."
9. Use the All Hallowed App to fix any balancing problems.
10. Just do it because it would be fun and f*ck gameplay just once.
